Season ticket ban if you don't attend...

Sounds like a good idea to me... Even with ticket exchange we still see far too many empty seats at the Grove!

Yes fair enough. if you can't get to more than 8 games then why do you need a season ticket?
Re: Season ticket ban if you don't attend...
If a fan wants to pay £1000+ for an Arsenal season ticket I think they are entitled to choose whether they bother to turn up or not.
If you tax and insure your car can someone else come along and take it if you don't use it?

But if there's a huge demand it's only fair that someone who actually wants to use the ticket gets it. Whereas if you want a car you can generally go down to a dealership and buy one.
Bayern could easily say they're just happy to take the money and don't particularly care whether you use it or not (like some other clubs closer to home)

if your the sort of person who has the money to buy a season ticket but not the dedication to attend at least 75% of the games then you'd be better off watching fucking polo and dining on prawn sandwiches.

Re: Season ticket ban if you don't attend...
Always did - and still does - my head in to see those empty seats at the Emirates. It's absolute selfishness of the highest order. I was on that bloody waiting list of theirs for 8 long years and only got my season ticket this year. And to watch every home game knowing that people couldn't even be asked to turn up was just the most frustrating thing to have to endure.
I have absolutely no doubt that there must be hundreds of others like me who are chomping at the bit for their season tickets but these plastics are off melting in the Bahamas or wherever instead of supporting their team. I really do hope Arsenal adopt a similar policy, someone tell them they could be making more money through food sales and they'll be right on it.
Same with these people who arrive 10 minutes late and leave 10 minutes early, every single game. And that's not even to mention them swanning off to buy their Bratwurst with 5 minutes of the first half to go. You're at a football match for goodness sake, not Oktoberfest. Start acting like a fan.

If they want to piss away over a grand on something useless they might as well throw the cash off the side of a bridge or rent Bendtner for a few hours.Glitch33 wrote:If a fan wants to pay £1000+ for an Arsenal season ticket I think they are entitled to choose whether they bother to turn up or not.

It's just a PR stunt, how many of their fans leave their seats unfilled for more than 8 home games (bearing in mind they don't have a cack League Cup)? All heil German football though

Not keen on empty seats but an automatic ban for eight no shows per season seems heavy handed.
The club should get in touch and see why you are not turning up, maybe you are seriously ill or had to go overseas on business?
Should open the way for more use of the facility to re-sell a seat in advance that you know you will not be able to use, if you are unable to pass it to a friend.

Re: Season ticket ban if you don't attend...
I have two season tickets , I haven't been since 2011, so fucking what I pay for them, Ive been paying for them for over 30 years , the seats are currently used by friends and family .
Arsenal are bound to try and impose this little wheeze, so they can rake in more cash from ticket exchange and
sell to tourists so they might purchase more overpriced shoddy products and shit F+B from the *word censored* who run the club.
If people don't want to turn up and are prevented by law from reselling them outside a highly restricted and costly service it is absurd they face their tickets being taken back .
Fuck the Bavarian Bastards !~

Where's that fella that was using Bayern as a fan friendly example to slag off The Arsenal now?
Not that he's wrong in the 2nd respect, but no massive club able to hoover up the punters at will is going to be some paragon of fucking virtue, they're all out to rake it in, even Bayern.
Bayern might play 30 home matches in a season, a more reasonable figure would've been something like 15, but 8 is taking the piss a bit, as well they know.

Re: Season ticket ban if you don't attend...
Agree 100% with herd - I gave up my season tickets last summer but up to that point I had two and wasnt getting over as much as I used to. I too had spent years on the waiting list and I paid in full for my tickets so what I do with them after that is up to me. As well as that I would be hugely doubtful if that rule could be enforced legally so it is a moot discussion.
The thing about empty seats is that I used to allow my friends or cousin use them but when the club brought in a rule stating that I could only transfer them over to other members, I scraped that practice. I would find it ironic if our club introduced this policy given that they operate a practice of announcing ticket sales for attendance instead of bums on seats so if they do that then how can they now run with a suggestion that attendance, and not ticket sales, is the most important factor ?

The cup matches are not included on the season ticket.
Should I go on?

Do you live in LiverpoolGlitch33 wrote:If a fan wants to pay £1000+ for an Arsenal season ticket I think they are entitled to choose whether they bother to turn up or not.

In saying that it would be a very rare car in Liverpool if it was taxed AND insured (and had 4 wheels left)
