Anyone ever played a big live poker tournament ?

Reason I am asking is that usually I play small ball stuff on-line on Sky, made a few quid in my year out of work which has helped pay for a few bills and footy of course.
Last week, however, I found myself in a sit and go final on sky having played 15 sit and goes @ £5.50 each and finishing in the top 6 on the site in terms of return on investment. This lead to me being in the final, which I only went and won !
The first prize was a £1,000 seat to a poker tournament that has a guaranteed prize pool of £500,000! Not only this, but it includes a £500 accommodation package, so all my expenses will be covered. Effectively I have a shot at winning well over £170,000, for no outlay !
The tournament is going to be played at the DTD poker club in Nottingham, and is going to attract some of the best poker players in Europe. So realistically, to win it is a long shot but its not unreasonable to expect some sort of cash, the minimum cash will be around £2,000 for finishing what I should imagine is in the top 70 of around 5-600 runners. Making the final table will mean a cash well above £10,000.
Anyone else got any good poker tales or advice on how to approach the tournament?
