I make England favourites too - the fixtures are very kind to them this year as they play the two weakest teams first up to get some familiarity and momentum under their new manager and have the other two contenders at home.

Ireland v Wales is something of a title eliminator. Irish rugby isn't heading in the right direction at the moment whilst for me Wales are at something of a cross-roads - if they don't kick on now, start playing some decent rugby and beating the odd Southern Hemisphere side then they'll never do it. Like Wales' team selection picking Tom James and hopefully having two props who can scrummage after the mess our scrum has been for some time now.

On the Tipuric point, I've never been one of those clamouring for him to start. Lydiate, Warburton and Faletau is a perfectly-balanced combination and has been the best back row in the Northern Hemisphere by some distance for years. It's not playing with two 7s that is the issue - it's playing without a 6. Australia can get away with playing two opensides because Pocock plays at 8 and Fardy does immense work at 6. Lydiate is a hugely underrated player who does invaluable work for the side with his immense physicality chopping down player after player around the ruck. For me the worry is losing that physicality, having Warburton too tied up around the fringes of the ruck to make his usual impact at the breakdown and missing Lydiate's unseen defensive work against the lineout drive that Ireland usually employ successfully against Wales. That said, if there was a time for this combination to be used it is against an Irish back row missing Sean O'Brien and hopefully Tipuric will help Wales play some more exciting stuff.

Going to the Scotland game, can't wait as kick-off is 4.50 and France v Ireland is on beforehand. Also looking forward to the France game as Cardiff will be rocking on that Friday night - quit work early and get on the beers.

At least over here we wont have to endure listening to bullshit from all these new rugger wankers this year, cos as soon as the results turn to shit they will all fu.ck off back to hockey or show jumping or some other wankers sport

I don't think you can call Scotland a weaker team, the did better than us in the world cup and were very unlucky not to beat Australia.

Same old same old. No discipline. We've given away far too many penalties and let Scotland right back into it after we scored that try.

Lots of Welsh people wandering aimlessly around Dublin City Centre today. Maybe it's me but there doesn't seem to be as much hype about this year as previous years. Wheels off bandwagon big time.

Scotland are fucking shite. Every year people trip over themselves trying to find positives about how they are moving forwards but the reality they have been stagnating for years and continue to do so.

They were unlucky against Aus but let's not forget that if they hadn't overthrown their own line out there would have been no penalty. They had one good game but got walloped against SAa and nearly chucked it away against a very ordinary Samoa.

They made so many basic handling errors today and didn't ever look capable of scoring other tha when the Northern Hemispheres most average FH Finn Russell kicked away rather than passing to their one exciting player Stuart Hogg. England were fucking turgid to make such hard work against such piss-poor rubbish. Given that their back line has such exciting talents like Watson, Joseph, Brown and CAre England aren't half fucking boring to watch.

First game with a new coach so think a bit of time should be given.

Having said that, English sport doesn't really do exciting

seems to me, it give's the Welsh 6 weeks to be proud of where they come from. And the highlight of the Welsh calendar is if they manage to beat England.
