Not important to be honest. He's scored from a couple of corners, so what. We need players that can do more than that.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 1:51 pmOfficial. Douglas Luiz has signed a new long-term contract with Aston Villa.

His agent has played them like a piano. New contract, signing on fee, contract extension fee, increase in salary, agent gets a contract fee and an extension fee, sell-on clause inserted, player gone next summer. Oh, well. Nothing to do with us.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 1:51 pmOfficial. Douglas Luiz has signed a new long-term contract with Aston Villa.

And those nice friendly agents no other than our old friends Giuliano Bertolucci and Kia Joorabchian .

The fact that he has signed a new deal leads me to believe we have another, far better, option lined up ( hopefully for January)
Had we wanted to follow up our interest from the summer, he would have seen out his contract to leave on a free, get better wages (in all likelihood) from us and get to play in Europe and for a young up and coming team.Perryashburtongroves wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 8:42 pmHis agent has played them like a piano. Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
His own comments summed him up......
'I'm comfortable at Villa'
Something you really don't want to hear any player say! Ozil was comfortable, PEA was comfortable.......say no more! Must like looking a reasonable player at a bottom 6 club........

Substitute "Comfortable" for Lazy, Bored and Waiting for the Move and The Wedge from that and that'll do nicely !

Arsenal are confident Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli & William Saliba will extend their deals, with all three players in contract talks with the club. [@TheAthleticUK] #afc

Negotiations with Bukayo Saka’s contract extension are the most advanced. Arsenal prioritised Saka’s contract above all others during the summer & made significant headway. It now appears a question of when, not if, a contract is finalised. [@TheAthleticUK] #afc

New signings (LCB & Mid-field Holder) in January are a MUST if we are to get Top 4.

I’d prefer a striker so that Eddie isn’t an optionOneBardGooner wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 3:21 pmNew signings (LCB & Mid-field Holder) in January are a MUST if we are to get Top 4.
