ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

According to @geglobo, Arthur is close to completing his loan move to #Arsenal. Talks between Arsenal & Juventus advanced yesterday & the Gunners will have an option to buy at the end of the season. The two clubs are currently negotiating over the fee. https://t.co/7aEshx3NNo
He is called 'Arthur' really ffs
Is it, Arthur Daly we are signing?
Well he is probably a little dodgy, maybe, but underneath…..he’s alright :barscarf:

Afcon 2021: Gabon's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of game against Ghana with 'heart lesions'

Not making excuses for the guy, but perhaps this has been part of the problem relating to his awful form for some months?

Apparently caused by in healthy lifestyle habits, such as a poor diet, lack of exercise, being overweight and smoking.

I’ve not seen Auba run in about 18 months so maybe it’s that….

Just read that it is not that serious and the Gabon coach has said he may be available for the next game.

Ok cool.

So this new striker we are in for , looks like he comes with loads of baggage as in the agents etc. Reading various things about wanting percentages of transfer fees etc . If we get him and I hope we do , don’t get too attached to him because give him 2/3 good years and he will be on his bike .

Like Anelka and his brothers .

Yeah was my thoughts too Shu, but for 2/3 seasons if he can propel us back up there, by banging in goals, flog him for a profit and replace him if he don’t won’t to be here after that .

Far, far too big of a price imo for a one season wonder

I agree with you. Too similar to Luka Jovic situation move to Real Madrid. I'd actually go for Jovic who would be cheaper and a point to prove. Although my I'd prefer Abraham or Calvert-Lewin, they just seem a better fit with "the process".

I agree the deal seems too expensive but then again most of the summers deals were worrisome when announced, but Tomi and Ramsdale have definitely turned out ok and the others are improving with time although there are question marks still.

None of us can say how this will turn out if it goes ahead, it could be a William or it could be a Ramsdale, only time will tell.
