Unai Emery

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Can’t believe this thread. Has Wenger really gone??!! :D :barscarf:
Unfortunately...yes .... he's coming back to 'clear his desk' aka: have a snipe at the new manager and his Nemesis Gazidis.

Emery has already done a full evaluation of the squad, believes they have been underperforming & will work hard on getting them back on track in training. #Arsenal https://t.co/DNC7ZIt2J0

Interesting snippets in The Times. Emery is especially determined to improve Arsenal at set pieces. ‘Arsenal players can expect an intense month of drilling in set pieces, making Arsenal more of a threat when attacking corners and free kicks and more effective in defending them.’

He needs a tablet that big to explain to Bellend that you don't go walkies in a semi-final, and leave costa in behind clean through on goal.

Why isn’t he strangling anybody in these pictures?

I was promised there would be strangling.

Emery is reportedly looking for a Spanish speaking ex-Arsenal player to join his backroom staff.

Bobby Pires?

This is the role that would have made sense for Arteta, to come in as part of his backroom team, if the club wanted to groom him from here than it would make more sense.

Pires would be good, he's always at the training ground anyway, just don't bring back Almunia.....

Arteta wants the top job though. He's happier to be a backroom staff member at City instead.

Not an 'Arsenal' man anyway, the way Bobby is.

Get French Football
@GFFN
Javi Garcia, PSG goalkeeping coach, could join Unai Emery at Arsenal; Les Parisiens are worried about losing him, he's very highly-rated at the club, according to @parisunited6.

I agree, was so baffled when loads were desperate for him to get the job, he has such a minimal history at the club, came via Barcelona, PSG, Rangers & Everton so he had no massive connection with the club anyway, a very average captain in an awful era but loads acted like he captained the double winners.
