Positives and Negatives

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Positives and Negatives

Post by Justin-the-Gooner »

Let me start by saying that last night was probably the most depressing night of being an Arsenal fan since the Champions League final, this of course being a lot more embarrassing. Firstly Tottenham did beat us for the first time in nine years and well done to them they were top class, but they did not beat us, they embarrassed us. But aswell as the negatives (which there are a lot of) they are a small few positives. I am going to start with the negatives so I can attempt to sign off on a positive note.

1. We were destroyed by Tottenham of course.
2. We can"t say it was luck or that we played the "young guns" because we played quite a lot of our first team.
3. The crunts really rubbed our noses in it, they were even ignoring our chants I believe.
4. We should never have fought we each other.
5. Denilson, Walcott, Hoyte, Traore, Fabianski, and Diaby were all woeful and quite alot of them may not make it.
6. Gilberto has lost it.
7. The Young Guns should have been fully player because they would have probably got a better result.

POSITIVES
1. We were never going to win four trophies and if we were going to be knocked out of one that is the one I would choose.
2. All-in-all it was great experience for the young guns who made it all the way to the semi-final.
3. We can now focus on the three main cups.
4. Arsene may now admit we need a better center back and possibly a winger.
5. Its a nice kick up the arse.
6. Gallas is a great captain.
7. We don"t have to worry about losing the Tottenham record again and can just concentrate on winning next time.
8. Tottenham were at their very best and we were at our very worst.

But well done to Spurs because it was deserved and I hope I don"t have to write about Spurs beating us again, I wish them no luck for the rest of the season and for us I hope it is a wake-up call.

Above all, there are no parallels with 1987. That signalled the end of them as a major club.

Last night was sickening but we're not goin into turmoil because of this.
