You know even if we won anything most of you would still all hate Arteta , he cant win tbh.
Now i am not fan of his but i think we are in a much better place than 3 years ago and the board have provided the finances. Thank god there are the one or two here who are positive but then get aggressively shouted down.
But some of you are a fucking disgrace and should take a look at yourselves.

Re: William Saliba
I find it amusing how there has to be a conspiracy theory or agenda behind every decision the club takes on some players according to some members here when there may be simpler explanation available.
Saliba had played just 13 league games for St Etienne before we signed him. We loaned him back the first year since it was part of the agreement and he made only 11 appearances in the league and then suffered a serious injury which obviously would have hampered his progress.
The second year the club did f*ck up and were not able to get a loan deal done for him for the first half of the season though that could be blamed on Rennes backing out at the last moment after having an agreement with Saliba. He then went on loan to Nice and played 20 league games and performed well.
The third year Arteta took a call that a 20 year old CB who has had a stop start career since joining us needed more experience and decided to send him on loan to Marseille, a big club in France with a demanding fan base. The boy had a brilliant season and was voted the young player of the year. Could he have helped us if he had stayed? Yes probably. Could he have taken us to 4th or won us a cup? Highly unlikely.
Where Arteta and the club did go wrong is not sorting out his contract situation before sending him on loan last season. If we end up losing him on the cheap next season after having a brilliant season then the club and Arteta will be responsible and will deserve the criticism. However if he ends up signing a new contract and has a brilliant season then the decision to send him on loan last season will be justified.
But why look at this objectively when making up stories to suit one's agenda is more fun.

Which is it ? We lost out on top 4 by ONE POINT, so if he was any help at all we would have got top 4 ffs
Bul.lshit excuses - he should not have been loaned out last year and that is a fact. People defending the basque c.unt for sending him away keep trying to muddy the waters with bu!!shit about whether he was ready or not, but totally ignore the fact that pep's cone boy was after splashing out £50m on an unproven player to play in saliba's position, and that is the reason why saliba was pushed out the door - if he had belief in saliba you dont blow £50m on ben white

He would have helped us because Saliba even if he was undercooked is on a different league to Holding and Mari at the very least. But an additional CB wouldn't gotten us in the top 4 when we clearly had issues up front with our lack of goals. The goal difference between the scum and us was 16, a CB alone would not bridge that gapaugie wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 5:26 pmGunnerz4life wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 3:59 pmI find it amusing how there has to be a conspiracy theory or agenda behind every decision the club takes on some players according to some members here when there may be simpler explanation available.

Arteta seems to have felt that Saliba needed a full season on loan which in itself could be a fair assessment because he had not played a full season the previous three years. Expecting him to play as a starting CB for a full season in a more physical league could have been a risk which Arteta was not willing to take.
White irrespective of his price tag has been a good signing and he has formed a decent partnership with Gabriel. We should be glad that in Saliba Gabriel and White we have 3 quality CBs fighting for a starting spot.

We lost top 4 for one reason. Faith in Tavares. If you watch All Or Nothing, Tierney comes back to fitness but because Tavares has had a couple of reasonable games he persists with him. We drop points in those games. It happens again at the end of the season. Instead of playing an experienced right back at left back he plays Tavares or one occasion Xhaka. Arteta’s faith in Tavares blows us up. Not the missing Saliba imo. Although perhaps with Saliba in the squad we could have shifted the defence around a bit better. Perhaps it is Saliba we were missing.

Forget about the goal difference - turn one score draw into a win is a 2pt turnaround on its own and totally negates any goal difference argument. How many league games did we lose by a single goal ? Again a tighter defence might have turned two of them into draws and there is your difference wiped out straight away.
The margin that we lost out on top 4 was so minimal that it wouldnt have needed a top quality striker or centre back to grab that 4th place, and any player better than what we had could have made the difference

This forum has become toxic, there really is a herd mentality (if you will pardon the pun) which is generally negative towards anything that happens to our team, win draw or lose. This mantra is killing the forum. It should be one of the biggest on the internet with the fanzine connections, but it isn't by a long way.

There's no one on here that doesn't love to see us win. But this has always been a forum for the more pragmatic Arsenal fans. The ones that don't have blinkers on. When the club had an official forum, people got permanent bans for criticising a player that had a bad game. We have always been the antithesis of that sheep mentality. Why pretend everything is rosy if it isn't?
Every opinion is welcome on here. But I think if someone is going to say everything is perfect when it's not then they should be prepared to be challenged on that.

Well it was inevitable that he'd score an OG. Nearly did it last week. Glad he's got it out the way early doors and didn't effect the result.

He didn’t let it affect him though and the very next touch of the ball he had the crowd responded to let him know they were still right behind him.
As someone stated on the match thread White’s positioning and lack of challenge for the initial long ball was woeful, he had turned away so wasn’t even looking at the ball to see where it was.
Anyhoo, Big Willy, looks very comfortable and also to join in the goal celebrations - he seems quite happy.
