Unsung Heroes

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Paul Davis never got anywhere near the amount of respect and praise he deserved outside of Highbury. In an era when English football was completely devoid of any skill, he shone out like a beacon.
Ooh this is one that has to be up there. The man had silken skills, power, pace, strength. Everything. A truly gifted player.

And a pretty decent right hook too :box:

Does Overmars count? People always talk about Vieira and DB10 but very rarely about Marc Overmars.

He may have questionable taste when communicating via text message, but I wish him well recovering from his stroke, and thank him for winning us the league in Manchester and the FA Cup against the barcodes.

Personally I wouldn't class him as "unsung", as most Gooners rave about him, and rightly so, he was a brilliant player for us.

Now you all know I get confused over who did this but is Overmars the inappropriate text message guy or was that someone else?

While Ozil could land a ball on a postage stamp poor old Yaya struggled to get it in the right postcode. But he did win the FA Cup though.

Brian Marwood with his pinpoint crosses and a good finisher.

Absolutely. There was a period not too long ago when I thought the last decent corner we had was delivered by him in 1989.
