Genuinely think our best bet of winning this league is everyone else not being that good cause we aren’t that good are we …

DB getting absolutely schooled here and I for one am all for it.

Haven't seen a beating like that since Calum Chambers/Jefferson Montero back in 2014.

DB's been Chambers'd

We have no ability to change up our game. No plan B. But the Arteta cultists will tell you he is the greatest young manager in the world and we are top because we the best team in the world, and it has absolutely nothing to do with all the other top 6 teams being shit and going through transitional phases....

This is the kind of game where Arteta has to show he is more than a Spanish Wenger.

COME ON FFS!! :banghead:
4 and a half billion pound transitional teams

I don't believe you can win a title with someone like Eddie as your main target man. Jesus is not the answer either, he hadn't scored for 9 games before he got injured.
6 premier league games without a goal
He scored at Brentford and home to spurs

Poor all game. Should have taken at least four points from the last two games. No chance we're winning the league on this form. More of these fucking boring, ten behind the ball games to come and without Gabriel Jesus we have nothing to overcome them. This was just so fucking poor.
We’re we winning the league when we lost 3-1 at home to Newcastle in 01/02
Dropping 7 points in 6 games

We could probably lose every game from here on 3-0 and still get in the Champions League next year. Brentford unbeaten in 11 and also looked quite shit. No good teams this year.
57 points would have got you in the champions league in 03/04
No good teams then
Spurs on course for 64 points this season

Just not good enough, and certainly not good enough to be champions. Arteta is lost because he doesn't have anything else to offer, just try to get Saka and Martinelli to do the job and if they don't, we don't have a clue. The team should have been changed after last week, Ben White is badly off form, Martinelli has been lacking, Xhaka has been very poor.......and still he leaves it exactly the same. Aside from City and maybe one or two other 'top' teams, everyone will play the same against us and we won't have a clue. Very fucking depressing.
But Man City who lost at home to Brentford are

without all the stats....city have a fantastic squad...they have options all over the shop...we clearly dont have those options

nkeitah and xhaka and probably ben white would not get near a game in that squad

we are over achieving...and we have played some great football....

City will be all over us on Wednesday. This lot have run out of steam and momentum. Needed world class signings in January, didn't get them. Just like those years when we should have won the league in 2008 and 2010. Draws when we should have won, dropping points needlessly from February onwards, no threat up front and a hundred passes on the edge of the box. We've seen it before.
To be fair though, when decent top level sides decide to play out the last 10-15 with a ten man defence there’s not much you can do in that timeframe unless you have a Bergkamp/Messi level player to unlock things. Every team struggles and usually fails to break it down. Having a significant aerial threat isn’t a guarantee of a breakthrough either as he’ll still get crowded out in the mass of bodies. The only real solution, especially at home, is to be winning as you go into the last 15. That’s what fucked us up today.
Yeah, title winning sides don't go giving away silly fucking goals and make life hard for themselves.
Apart from the title winning 03/04 side who gave away a sloppy goal home to Portsmouth in a 1-1 draw
And let the lead slip at Bolton to draw 1-1

As bad as we were there is now a real issue with time wasting in our games. Once they scored I would say there was 5 minutes of football played in the remaining 20 minutes. Toney went down three times with non injuries and was allowed. Ben Mee did the same and there were others. Raya took 10 minutes out of the game on his own by fucking around over goalkicks and any free kick in their half. The referee just watched on and allowed it. There was also the obligatory contrived handbags at the end when someone went through Zinchenko. That was another few minutes which ate the clock away. The ref just added 5 minutes and let it go on. It’s becoming a joke and is clearly coached. It’s an art form. We need the World Cup timekeeping back because it’s destroying the game.
Hear hear
The absolute bollocks of booking a player when they waste time but don’t add the time on make it a perfectly valid tactic coz it works

It's games like these that show how thin the squad is. Who do you bring on that will really shake this game up?
Trossard has 3 goals v Brentford

Right. And notice how we went on to win this game? Notice how we brought on someone to really shake the game up? No? :rubchin:

Ffs mate.
Yes that was who we had on the bench
An arsenal player not some competition winner from the crowd

8 mins we held that lead for ffs.
Yes
Like the 9 mins we held the lead home to 10 man Bolton in 01/02
Are you taking the piss mate? That's borderline WUMing.....
No
It’s all this old bollocks about the title being over
Shouldn’t have took the coach out the garage to go to anfield in 89 after home defeats to derby and draw with Wimbledon
It’s borderline nothing
It’s full on getting behind a team who are going to need everyone pulling together in the run in
