The FA are already back tracking and making excuses for them.....whispers of lesser charges and a severe warning.... :blah: :blah: :blah:

Not the FA’s decision. This is from the Premier League. If Clubs can’t abide by FFP why did they introduce it? City have defrauded football for well over a decade. There is no debate about that.

The Premier League will never in a million years ever sanction a club for financial dishonesty because they know that they have not only tolerated it but actively encouraged it for 30 years. They've known that the chavs and city and manure were all at it for years, they've known that refs were on the take and from manure and ferguscum and more recently, the chavs and city. They know that they fixed things with VAR to allow the bindippers to win the league in 2020 when they needed them to win it to create a new 'story' and keep interest in their brand. They knew it didn't look good for the image that they hadn't won it, so made sure they did. They know they allowed West Ham to field ineligable players who kept them up at the expense of Sheffield United and hoped it wouldn't actually matter. That should have been investigated but wasn't because they just paid a desperate Sheffield Utd off and told them to be quiet. They know that Leicester and their players were all failing drugs tests back in 2016 but didn't want to disrupt the 'fairytale' that they somehow managed to stumble upon. They know that City have been defrauding and cheating and God knows what else for years bit know full well that any action will expose them for their double standards and failure to act over the last 30 years. One day it will all come out but sadly, not just yet. As sad as it is, it wouldn't surprise me that they somehow try to distract attention by leaking another child abuse or racism scandal which they can then pretend to take very seriously.

Why have they charged City with 100 plus charges?

Won’t they look a bit silly if they then back down from it?

Won’t it just strengthen the desire for a Super League if they allow FFP to be circumvented?

Not sure I follow the logic of your argument, even though I agree that the PL has been complicit in a massive fraud since it all began.

A lot of the 100 odd charges relate to multiple acts of similair things so from City's point of view, if they can either disprove one charge or make it very difficult to prove, it will knock out the other however many. Yes, I absolutely agree that this is a moment where the Premier League will look like mugs if they don't do something but there is a huge difference between doing something effective and just doing 'something.' This will rumble on for a few months and neither side will want to go too deep with it and an agreement will be reached whereby CIty might be deducted a few points and perhaps given a nominal six month transfer ban but have the usual year warning so they can just prepare for it and spend hundreds of millions in transfer windows preceding the ban.
The last thing the Premier League want is a scandal because tha lt affects the brand. City known that and they also know that if they deal harshly with them, they will release all the evidence they know about other clubs like the chavs and manure doing the same. As sad as it sounds, the best way out of this for both sides, is a PR happy type of 'punishment' and then moving on and pretending it never happened.

It's bollocks but sadly another case of if you can't beat them...

I predict Ratcliffe will buy United and Qatar will have to settle for the dippers.

That only leaves Chavski and us as high profile yank ownership clubs and we've already seen they will far out spend us, OK its funny at the moment, because it's not working, yet, but long term it will probably click.

Then where are we?, the arse end of nowhere I expect with the Brighton's, West Ham's and Spurs (assuming no change of owner) of the league.

We still need wiggy to sell, hopefully United sale will make him see he can turn a big profit, I can't see us competing at this level for long with the sort of resources that at least 4 other clubs will now have, 5 Inc Chavski.
