Knees, ankles, ribs, wrist, nose, elbow, collar bone, eye socket, jaw, teeth, concussions, cheek bone, metatarsal, ligaments, tendons, stitches.... had em all broken, torn or strained, in a glorious 40 year career at the low levels of the amateur Dublin leagues.... and a few of those injuries were from the regular fights you get at that level....

When I get up in the morning and I'm walking down the stairs my knees and ankles sound like shotguns going off ffs.

But I loved every minute of those 40 years playing.

Will the autobiography be out for Christmas?

Old as fuck now man. Started playing at under 5 level in Australia.

My old man was old skool Oirish: never back down, never show fear, never walk away from a fight, never throw the first punch, but always ensure you throw the last punch. He raised me and my brothers like that. He was an intelligent, well educated, calm man. But fucking hard as nails. And he expected no less from us.

I thought I was fearless on the pitch. It took my now good lady wife (girlfriend at the time) to put it into perspective the one and only time she came to watch me play. Afterwards, I was pumped up thinking I'd shown her what a tough guy I was, and she just looked at me and said something like "You're a fucking idiot. All of you. Fucking idiots."

By all accounts Timber has been registered for the knockout phase of the champions league, so please god a return to action must be imminent

Because you have to submit the squad list for the rest of the tournament now. Obviously the hope is that he's available for the latter stages if we manage to get that far, not a hope in hell he will play either game against Porto.
