I said it after the community shield, Arteta cupped Havertz's face, put his face against his and laughed/smiled, arms around him.... He didn't do that with anyone else, it was weird, man love? It's totally a case of Havertz is the new Xhaka and Arteta is going to play him regardless, it's a major major flaw in Arteta. He has favorites and cannot be told otherwise.

Havertz looks so so lazy....barely running.....MArtinelli busting his gut and gets hooked....go figure
Shades of Willian and bellend Cech
That's why we won't win anything with arteta. He'll keep his signings on because he can't look stupid

Exactly IW8. He's Wenger Mkll. Can't be seen to be wrong and that type of ego flaw will always undermine a person. If you can't accept that you've made a mistake, then you can't learnt from it.

He plays a CM at right back and a RB at LB when we have good players to play in those positions. WTF? What is Arteta trying to prove? Is he telling White and Tomi that neither are good enough at RB?
We know he wants Tierney out the club but at the cost of the teams performance? It's poor management and it almost cost us the game today.

Still fuming about that Timber injury.

God knows how many subs to choose from now, and he'd also picked up a yellow, his first game in a new league and Arteta doesn't make a pretty basic call just to take him off at HT.

Self harm or trying to be too clever messing with the back line. It should be White - Saliba - Gabriel - Timber/Tierney. It was his downfall in his first season and a half messing with the defence every game and he quickly needs to get his shit together on that as Partey should be nowhere near RB.

Rice grew into the game and hopefully he kicks on with his performances. Havertz was a big fat meh and that's being generous!

Would have been interesting if Forest had scored from that corner with them all over Ramsdales shirt, to see if that had been given. We all know the answer but staggering how often if it's the other way round it'd get pored over and we'd get penalised.

You would expect/hope that it would have been ruled out (think Ben White holding hands with the Leicester keeper last season which resulted in a Trossard goal getting chalked off) although you could never rule out us getting fucked over.

Havertz got a blow to the head and went down from the corner that led to their goal, game didn’t stop for a head injury though which will be even more funny when games are stopped umpteen times when we’re on the attack as a result of opposition players faking head injuries - yeah Newcastle I’m thinking of you.

And also players that he doesn't like, despite their abilities, like Tierney.

I really don't understand the point of having depth to the squad if Lego doesn't bother using any of them. Agreed with the majority here that Havertz wasn't great.

That being said - it is still three points, but we should have freshened up a 2-0 with 60 mins played.

I honestly thought we might go on to batter them but am disappointed with how the game turned out and concerned about the Timber injury.

I know it was only the first game but still it didn't go as I'd hoped for, Will take the 3 pts but feel we should've scored more.

We played a centre midfielder at right back, a right back at centre back, and a different right back at left back - there was no fcuking balance to the team  Pep lite is trying to show the world that he is a level above and has taken pep's inverted full back system and tried to extend it by playing fcukers everywhere bar where they are used to be or where they are natural   Our wingers who were too often negated last season when teams like the geordies doubled up on them, will this season be totally marooned on their own cos they wont have full backs coming up the wings to support them.

Unable to watch the game; had to travel to attend the Funeral of a friend :(

But having looked at some of the comments on here - It sounds like we started Bright then through a(nother?) bit of defensive foolishness allowed them back into the game. That is something we need to Put A Stop To.

Just watched the 2+ minute Highlights and that turn and pass by Martinelli must up there with assist of the season already...LOVE Him!

Eddie took his goal well and the goal by Saka was something"Special".

Hope Timber's injury isn't serious because he is a Fucking "Baller".

Sorry to hear about your friend OBG.

Your summation was pretty much what happened in the game. It started great but wore thin and desperate towards the end.

Just watched the highlights on the Sky page. that move by Martinelli and Saka's goal are both outstanding. Rest of the game was toilet.

Martinelli has some serious skillz!!
