RARE PROTOTYPE KIT FROM THE PAST.......REAL????

Post by gus ceasar is a legend »

I collect a few Arsenal shirts, mainly rare vintage ones.

Just wondering what you guys think of this one? Real or fake?

I know that several designs are made before a final shirt is chosen and have already seen next seasons supposed shite top but not sure on this!

Hi Gus, I seem to recall it and believe it was suggested prior to the two tone blue that also appears in the picture. I never liked that era of kits personally.

Do you remember the really dark blue with yellow dreamcast on the front. I think we only ever wore it once and changed it at half time as the team were unable to see each other. Have you got it? If not I'm sure mine is in the loft and I could dig it out for you.

I have both of those shirts that you mention SPUDMASHER  I have never sen the yellow version though. Surely if it has never been worn by any Arsenal team then it is pretty worthless. £79.99 seems very steep.

I would agree with that Wayno. If it had got to production then maybe, but as a prototype that was never really an Arsenal shirt I think it is a bit steep. Imagine how many others are out there! We must have had 3 or 4 supossed prototypes doing the round here last year. Some are total bull**it but I think the one gus is looking at was genuinely made by nike as a potential kit.

Ive seen that shirt too Gus a couple of years back. I collect shirts too (unfortunately) Ive got a rare yellow one they never released when they were wearing the blue away shirt in the early Nike days. I know we wore it against Aston Villa at Villa Park. I cant remember if we wore it only once more or never again.

Wasn't one of the Lens games was it? Half a game longer than the Dreamcast dark blue kit then!
