As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Yep, I read about it on Saturday. I was gonna post it but then...
Ex-ARSENAL star Glenn Helder has been sent to a psychiatric hospital.
The Dutch winger was jailed last year for illegal gun possession, threatening his ex-girlfriend and assaulting her current partner.
Former Holland star Helder, 39, has been committed to the De Waag institution in Haarlem.
According to Dutch reports, he has been diagnosed with "narcissistic personality disorder with hints of borderline psychosis".
Helder previously tried to commit suicide after becoming addicted to gambling.
Helder, George Graham's last signing as Arsenal manager when he moved from Vitesse Arnhem for £2.5m in 1995, made 39 Premiership appearances and scored

Yeah remember the gambling stories after he left apparently he owed money to a bunch of dutch gansters. It all went down hill for him the moment he got rid of the lionel richie hair cut.

Yeah, he destroyed Stuart Pearce and we all thought George had left us a leaving present!
To be fair, I didn't think he was as bad as many do. He had more than a few good games. Also, his performance on his debut, and the following Saturday at Palace (he set up 3 goals for Kiwomya in those games) kept us up that season. He also played a stormer with Dennis and Wrighty in a 3-0 up at Leeds, and set up Dennis' first Arsenal goal.
I always thought he was better than he turned out to be - he was also the winger for Holland for quite a while too, which is no mean feat (at least not back in the 90's, when they had a great team and should have won France 98).
As for now, words like ''creek'' and ''paddle'' come to mind...
Good luck Glenn, lets hope that you can sort out the demons in your head. Look on the upside, prescribed drugs and fucking good ones to boot..............Whooaaaa loooook aaaaaat thaaaattt coooooool dooooooor handle Drugs can be good, it's only those that aren't on them that disagree
I'm really, really against "recreational" drugs.
Even Cannabis is causing untold damage. Loads of people who took Cannabis in their teens are now living with uncurable mental health problems. They will be on medication until they die. Their lives have been ruined.
