Arsenal will bring Lukasz Fabianski to Emirates Stadium

Post by stearmaster »

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Arsenal will bring Poland goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to Emirates Stadium in the summer.

Skysports.com confirmed earlier in the week that the 22-year-old goalkeeper was close to joining The Gunners after undergoing a medical in London.

The Legia Warsaw keeper came under Wenger's gaze some time ago and he has now moved to wrap up a deal for a player he seemingly views as the long-term successor to Jens Lehmann.

"That will be done," Wenger told the club's official website. "He will be our new goalkeeper.

"He will join us next year, be in the squad and compete for a position.

"He is one for the future. We have identified him as having all the qualities to challenge here and be one of the future great goalkeepers for Arsenal."

Fabianski will vie with Lehmann and Manuel Almunia for a place in Wenger's plans

Reminds me of a young David Seaman.

Not the best quality vid but take a look and compare the two.

We havent signed him to be number 3 keeper so it must be the end for Almunia.I just hope he gives Lehmann some competition because this season Jens had a poor season but his place was never under threat.
