So just to clarify, 2 real world class players developed from youngsters in 20 years gives him this reputation.......

You can add Ashley Arsephone to that list.

A player held in such high regard that we were going to flog him to Palace for loose change until Sylvinho's dodgy passport scuppered that.

StuartL wrote:It all stems from him signing Anelka (and then flogging him to build a training ground)

cue his reputation, which he lived off for years despite all the other failed youngsters who didn't make it

then Fabregas.......

after that not so much, despite him trying to sign every promising youngster out there.

Somehow those two (admittedly both top top drawer) against all the dross he still manages to hold onto the outdated concept that he develops and improves youngsters :rubchin: :rubchin:
Agreed, Stuart. It's just a myth that is propagated by the press and the AKB :banghead:

And only Cole and Wilshere are pure Arsenal products that have came through in TOF's 20 years. He'll be hoping that Iwobi makes it, that'll be three in 20 years. Every other youth has been cherry-picked; Fabregas, Van Persie, Clichy, Senderos, Bendtner, Bellerin...

The Old Fraud's being 'great with youth' is a total myth. Yet he thinks he's the fucking oracle and so persists with signing 15 year olds and letting the first team go to shit. Look at Southampton if you want to see a good youth system. Manure and West Ham in the 90s were also good, as was Arsenal in the 80s.

Quite,

some thing as discovering Coquelins ability - he was banished to Charlton before being recalled as Arteta and Flamini were crocked

Bellerin was thrust into the first team as Debouchy was badly injured.

Iwobi only getting his chances due to others being out.

These have all happened by default, not through some great masterplan of Wenkers

Thought he looked really lively when he came on today vs Palace. They were terrified of his pace and his runs were INCREDIBLY intelligent and well-timed. You can't teach that. He's a very bright lad and you can see that when he makes his runs in behind. He's developing really well - it's vital we keep hold of players like this - trust me, he'll come good in his mid to late forties.

The guy might as well book his latest holiday in the Bahamas, because at the moment it's an easy decision for Woy to make.

There was a really great run, in particular, where he picked up the ball just inside the Palace half on the counter attack and just about made it to the halfway line before tumbling over and giving it straight back.

It's this kind of threat that he carries that genuinely frightens all of the world's top sides.

Brilliant. It's hilarious to think that Walcott really rates himself too. Arsenal have made him a millionaire and a household name and he's done fuck all to earn any of it, yet he's dropped for a few games and now thinks that he has a sense of entitlement and is issuing ultimatums.

Much like when he tried to leave a few years ago, he's in for a rude awakening if he honestly doesn't realise how few clubs would be interested in him. He's about as deluded as Wenger himself, which really is saying something.

Imagine Henry or Bergkamp stopping in front of the two defenders and falling on their arse.

My opinion of Walcott has always been that there has to be better out there for the money we are paying him.

I love the giroud-esque flapping arms as he falls on his arse asking for a free-kick.

Your laughing about him falling down, I'm amazed he touched the ball a few times before he tripped over his size 15s/
