Re: The Cricket Thread
Making a good go of this but all set up for a heroic failure.
Shock horror almost the entire Pakistan attack warned for running on the pitch defending a fourth innings chase in a tight game

Re: The Cricket Thread
...And glorious failure it is.
Always something underhand about Pakistan, impossible to like, like a cricketing Chavski or possibly Italy or Argentina in international terms. Wouldn't normally be bothered about losing unless it's them or the Aussies.
England have a job on to win this series now. Anderson and Stokes back for the next Test. Ali out, Rashid in hopefully. And Root needs to locate his brain from somewhere

Let's have a bat for an hour or so this morning, put them in for half an hour before lunch and have most of the day today to bowl them out. I just hope the weather holds.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Nonsensical decision not to enforce the follow-on notwithstanding, that was a pretty impressive demolition of Pakistan.

Re: The Cricket Thread
What a comeback. Could easily have crumbled in the second innings 100 behind. Always fancied us to turn up the pressure on them today

Re: The Cricket Thread
Yeah; proper team performance to overturn a 100+ run first-innings deficit. Still don't like Cook's cautious outlook in batting teams out of the game, as I'd have preferred 10 or so overs at them last night, but an excellent win is an excellent win.Leyton Gooner wrote:What a comeback. Now to the Oval for another road and another England loss.

Re: The Cricket Thread
England are much better than Pakistan and should be beating them comfortably in a home series BUT overturning a 100+ run first innings deficit to win emphatically is remarkable.
