Holidays

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

We were in Albufeira about a month after she went missing. My daughter is the same age and looked a little bit like her at that age. Everywhere we went fuckers were staring at my little girl and it freaked me out until I realised they were just checking if it was Madeline. :|

I love Portugal and myself and the missus are working hard towards buying the retirement villa and fucking off there permanently in about 20 or so years time... that's the dream, anyway... :D 8)

The very fortunate Mrs Spuddy and I feel the same way about Cyprus. We're planning for a long retirement there but I'm hoping it isn't 20 years away. To be honest, If I could get a job we'd probably go tomorrow. There is no work there though. They had an influx of Russians a few years back and because they live in houses of multiple people who bed share they don't need as much salary. The Cypriots are greedy by nature and when a Russian goes into a business and offers to work for €1 an hour less they just sack the worker and employ the Russian. That's far too unstable an environment to move into when you still need a regular income. Mrs Spuddy can work there no problem. She's a British nurse and they will get work anywhere in the world.

I know Vilamoura well, stayed there a few times. Beautiful spot. You know it's within easy reach of Krazy World Zoo theme park, the Zoomarine and Aquashow water parks, and the beaches etc? There's so much to do with your kids locally; Boat trips, bike hire and even guided cycling tours, excursions, water sports, swimming, hiking, cruises...

How was your daughter bored?!

I agree about Portugal .... but GOLF!!!!????

You're always having a go at rugby players, then you openly admit to playing golf! Have you no shame man?

Golfers? Fat, elitist racists in pink Lyle & Scott sweaters and orange trousers, forever prattling on about their new Volvo or Lexus. Stop now before it's too late.

Don't be a cheesedick. The difference is golf is a hobby, a relaxing pastime. It is not a sport and no one at amateur level tries to pretend it is, unlike the homo-erotic wrestling that some call "rugby" which tries to sell itself as a sport and its participants as sportsmen rather than the fat repressed closet jobs they all are.

Personally, I have always golfed a bit for work / stag weekends etc, but tbh I'm reasonably shite at it and could not care one way or the other.

As for your statement about golfers being "Fat, elitist racists in pink Lyle & Scott sweaters and orange trousers, forever prattling on about their new Volvo or Lexus" all I can say is golfers in Ingerland must be a lot different to people that play golf in Oireland - most of which play in jeans or combat shorts and t-shirts on public courses!

Yeah, but combat shorts and a T-shirt counts as 'formal attire' in Dublin.

Oi! Speaking as a golfer I resent that sentence and must put you straight.

I drive a Jaguar.
