Rumours tht Madrid are willing to offer 85m for Auba
Doubtful, but if true it would be a no brainer for me - love his pace and on his day he is unplayable, but for me his unplayable days are rarer than his average/cant be arsed days, and lets be honest and admit that he isn't clinical enough anyway. The main reason I would take the offer though, is that £85m will buy us two very good players which will strengthen the overall team (like the victims did when they sold Coutinho)
Agreed but if we still deal in the transfer market like we did under Wenger then they will offer 85 million and we will accept 70

I get the logic but the difference is, as good as Coutinho was, selling him didn't really hurt them as they had ready made replacements of similar quality. Whereas, I don't think we can afford one of the few quality players we have right now without it hurting us. We really have to hope we can pull in some cash on the dross we want out whilst we keep hold of the front two and the few others worth keeping (Leno, Torreira, Bellerin).

As likely as the easter bunny bringing emery a £200m transfer warchest My eldest lad is making the same points you are, but in reality we will get fcuk all for mustafi, elninny, or any of the sub-standard shit that le cock left behind
Normally I would be on board with keeping our best players, but we all know that kroenke is going to give dick fcuk all money to spend this summer, so funds are gonna need to be generated in sales, and that kind of fee for a 30 year old would make sense to me if we intend to improve the overall quality of the team
If we have to sell one of our saleable assets, I'd plump for Bellerin. He's a good player but I think we'd get good money for him (north of £50m) and in theory it will be easier to find a younger cheaper replacement who can perform a similar role. Replacing Auba's goals would be much harder without spending all the money we bring in on the replacement at which point it's a useless exercise.
