Well done Rob .
I said to my wife last night that first thing this morning you would be on here parroting the utterences of Chuka Umunna and his bending arithmatic.
Brexit & UKIP votes 31.7 + 3.6 = 35.3
Lib/dem & green 18.6 + 11.1 = 29.7
Cons & Lab 8.7 +14.1 = 22.8
As no-one knows where either of the last two parties stand , least of all themselves , you can split their votes any way you wish to .
I would conclude that nothing much has changed since 2016 Neither camp has added much clarity to their arguments . From the remain side everything leave is just a catastrophic , cliff edge disaster sound bite , with no attempt to answer why these assertions are correct and from leave it's been purely a reiteration of the winning result taking the moral high ground countering all the previous again with little depth.
The conservative and labour votes are up for grabs , as are the votes of those who for varying reasons chose not to contribute. To claim that it's all on to to 35.3 % is ridiculous .
More interesting though is the way that Brexit has the largest group of MEP's in Brussels and the way that Le Pen's vote has overtaken Macron's although whether that gets as much publicity as the Gilet Jaunes protests is moot , and of course both the rise of Salvini and Tsipras being forced into an election following his defeat .
Things in Europe are changing and it will be interesting to see how it unfolds from the outside.

Where is the Remain Party???
If the majority wanted to remain then surely they could have got their shit together and called themselves the Remain Party. Then we could have a direct face off between Brexit Party and Remain Party. Simple really. I guess the remainers don't know what kind of remain deal they want.

I love the way the remain media have added together the results of FIVE parties to overtake the result of ONE.

But only an idiot would try and draw anything from these elections as no fucker here bothers to vote in them

In fact if you want to try and draw any inference from them how about the fact that 63% of voters didn't give enough of a shit about the EU to vote 8)

more to the point what else have the Brexit Party got to offer apart from Brexit ?
there are bigger issues in the world than Brexit. If you want a face off between Brexit and Remain then fine lets have another referendum.

the results showed that there is now a majority of voters who want to remain, in these elections they spread over different parties because the euro elections are based on proportional representation not first past the post.

where is this will of the people that want a no deal Brexit then ? If you add the Brexit Party with UKIP then you get about 35%. looks like the leave vote is split then. its funny how that leavers in 2016 can add all their different leave ideas up to claim victory, whereas in 2019 remainers are not allowed to add up all the various remain ideas.

Proportional representation shows that if this was general election the Brexit Party would have over 500 seats in parliament and Farage would be PM. Whether it's first past the post, majority win, the college system or proportional representation the remainers aren't winning because they cannot fully back one party. The only way Remaniners can get what they want is if we start living in a communist dictatorship.

Ultimately it shows the remainers simply cannot galvanise and get behind one ideology to support. They all want something different which indicates how divisive remainers actually are. They're too busy tiki-taka amongst themselves to realise they have been completed outplayed by the long ball through the middle. The ONLY reason why Lib-Dems got that share of the vote is people who cannot stand Farage had no other option but to vote for the party that wants another referendum.
The conservatives will have to deliver Brexit now as surely they would've learnt by May's mistakes if they want to stay in power. That is simply what they want. Brace yourselves for a no-deal Brexit.

sorry but I'm afraid that you don't get it.

because it was proportional representation then the Remainers had OPTIONS last week,
we were voting for MEPs and not electing Nigel Farage as a sort of British EU leader.

in a general election the remainers will vote for the party most likely to beat the Brexit Party.
also in a general election people are not going to just vote for 1 issue,

at the last euro elections in 2014 UKIP "won" but how many MPs did they get at the 2017 General Election ? Answer NONE

Parliament at the moment in case you hadn't realised is currently gridlocked and so a no deal Brexit is not going to be possible.
The only chance of a no deal Brexit is to have another referendum or a General Election. This is the reality I'm afraid.

Not so Rob , If we continue to argue the way between ourselves and do not agree the treaty that Robbins was party to , there is a distinct possibility that the E.U might decide that enough is enough and chuck us out on a no deal basis.
They have been claiming all along that they are fully prepared for this outcome and it might be a problem for us because just as at referendum time the remain side were complacent and ill prepared and we are again now .
No deal should never have been taken off the table and we should have been preparing for it from day 1. If we do get a no deal Brexit we can all blame those who did everything throughout the process to try and overturn the result.

Because the remainers had options they couldn't agree which option to support. That is the problem
The Brexit Party victory was a clear message to the Government protesting to do their job and execute the democratic decision to leave the EU.
Not many people know the role of the MEP, and what they represent. Many saw this as a vote to support a party that wants to leave. Had the remainers been smarter they would have gotten behind the "best" remain party and gone for it. Alister Campbell and Michael Heseltine did the right thing both have been expelled from their parties. Both went Lib Dem because their own parties didn't give them the remain option they wanted.
The landscape of politics has changed. The EU stands for antiquated German idealism. Single party alliances are out of date. Capitalism/ Socialism/ Communism are 20th Century ideologies that no longer fit in a globalised world.
There will not be a general election any time soon, nor will the conservatives risk humiliation again by holding a second referendum.
The Remainers have blown 3 opportunities to establish a majority vote for a "Remain" party. The next general election will be in 2022 by which time, we would have left/ been thrown out of the EU. That is the reality of the situation.

We may end up leaving in a manner that nobody on either side wanted and will have to make the best of it.
No deal leaving should have the effect of concentrating the minds of those that have been dragging their way kicking and screaming to this point instead of accepting the decision and getting on with preparing for this day.

Something remainders have never appreciated. All we ever wanted was to trade .We were never interested in political union. That was what we were told was happening when we joined the EEC .
It’s the headlong charge to a one all consuming state ,the calls for “ more Europe “ The overbearing decision making is where the problems lie.
The EU makes mistakes as do the British government but when Westminster gets it wrong the mistakes are our mistakes and we only have ourselves to blame and we don’t have to bale anyone else out.
It’s about independence from a project designed to protect some at the expense of others.
