I just think it's amazing that these squad players can perform like that against a full strength premier league side. OK only Wigan but still a magnificent display.
HOWEVER yet again the ground is half full at then end. There is no answer I know but it's just embarrasing to see it.
If I were Adebayor I would be shitting myself cos Vela is special and must surely be pushing for a regular first team place.
And how comfortable do Ramsey and Wlishere look on the ball? Brilliant.
I'm buzzing absolutely buzzing

You cant make comparisons cos if that was a league game tonight then wigan would have been a different beast altogether however.........
1. There is no denying class and Vela and Wilshire are pure class. I aint
having a go here but when you see some fans nearly "creaming
themselves" over theo and then you look at those two and he really
aint in their class
2. Ramsey is progressing very well and aint too far behind vela and
wilshire but I would like to see him given more 1st team time now
especially instead of bringing on the woefully pedestrian song in
midfield
3. Admittidly I missed some of the game but from what I did see djouru
looked very assured at the heart of the defence. I made the point
earlier today that I have a bad feeling that djouru is going to be
squeezed out without getting a fair chance and that would disappoint
me greatly cos I think this guy could be a quality player for us for a
long time if given the chance
4. Fabinski made that double save at the end that was just different class
In some ways you wished that the score was only 1-0 at the time cos
the quality of the save will be forgotten midst the quality of the outfield
play and goals. I think I could say with some level of certainty that coco
(TM calo ) would not have made that save

augie needs to calm down me thinks great result and poerformancebut wigan in the carlin cup and wigan in the premiership are completely different ....
sayin theo aint in there class(wilshere/ramsey)...give it a rest will ya remember theo is only a couple of years older than them and is already a key player for club and country
also fabianski ...great saves at the end but every ball into the box he made a hash of ....werent impressed by him tonight

The back 4 were highly impressive tonight. Djourou seemed to be really leading and organising them as well as doing the basic parts of defendig well. And striding forwards at times, including setting up the third goal. He should be given his chance in the first team now.
Gavin Hoyte also impressed me. Not as obvious as some of the other unknowns in the team but I didn't see him put a foot wrong in defence and generally looked utterly solid in a way that 18 year olds rarely do.
Obviously Wilshere and Vela were outstanding, although no need to do Theo down - he is already an established first teamer while still a teenager, quite some achievement.
Finally a word for Simpson and Ramsey. I like these two because they are in many ways not typical of the Arsenal players. Simpson likes to drift in and out of the game but pick the ball up running in behind defences rather than getting the ball short to feet. This stretches the game and allows the other players more space in which to play, while also offering a quicker route to goal. Ramsey has all the technical excellence required to play for Arsenal but looks a tough lad as well who makes his share of tackles.

Just got home from game.
Thoughts:
Ramsey bossed game from midfield, good short passing game and physically capable too.
Wilshere had quiet game by his standards but passed well.
Simpson made good off the ball runs, and showed a hitherto unseen calmness in front of goal (I told you G88ner!).
Vela is lightning quick over short distances. Knows where the goal is BUT he overplays it and gets caught in posession.
Djourou looked calm and controlled and it is rare that I ever agree with Augie but he really needs to be a first team starter.
Song was ok, showed physical strength but gave ball away a bit.
Randall worked very hard, gave ball away a bit too.
Merida came inside too often for my liking, left too much space in front of Gibbs.
Gibbs is very good, strong, fast and good tackler.
Hoyte did well, amazing to think he used to pay as a left back.
If Theo had played tonight, I think he would have got two goals.
