As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
xisstential wrote:"Wenger believes he has improved greatly since being at Arsenal"???? Really..... how bad he was when he arrived then??
And as for "sealing a transfer away". First of all nobody wants him. Secondly who in their right mind would pay him 140k per week?? And thirdly if Wenger leaves Walcott will be FORCED to "seal a transfer" as he won't get a game under a new manager. I mean this crap Wenger spouts, Walcott cannot even get a start under him!!!
Improved so much that a Nigerian kid has ousted him from the team
How there can be any doubt about Wenger's inability after a statement like that i just don't know...
10 years, just over 80 goals and another 5 years, so roughly 130 goals in 15 years if we are lucky now compare that to TH, IW and DB and then compare relative wages too
Yet again one more big fuck you from wenker to everyone else. That statement is just crazy. Jesus, when this nightmare comes to an end?
He said Walcott is intelligent, he certainly is, he's managed to become a multi-millionaire for trotting around the field doing sod all. He said he is very motivated! I bet he runs to the bank with his loot quicker than he runs back to help out the defence.
Btw I don't mean that in any disrespect to the Nigerians, but I am thinking of the fact that wally is English has allowed him to prosper at our club way beyond the level of his ability The "home grown" players rule, only works if we are actually capable of producing home grown players good enough to play at our level
As yet another tradition dies ... this time football being played at Easter ... you might get a spare hour or so to listen to this Charlie Nicholas interview at the bottom of the page on the link.
I found the whole thing really interesting but if you don't get to listen to it all, its worth at least listening from 37.00 onwards where Charlie and the interviewer talk about Highbury and what a great club Arsenal were.
Strangely what is said doesnt quite align with how Wenger ''built the club with hard work and no external money'' many years later, but there you go
The reality is Wenger has achieved god like status at the club. So it might appear crazy that a seemingly intelligent man can come out and spout the crap he does, but why shouldn't he?? Nobody within the club or the media are going to question anything he says, he shows loyalty to players and they back him in return.
I don't believe that he wonders for a minute what we think of his outrageous statements because he doesn't care what we think. He has the full backing of every board member, every single player in the squad, (or he would sell them instantly) Kroenke........ and the media are seemingly scared of him. The fans don't even come into it.
Our waking nightmare with seemingly no end in sight

Yes, agree with you. Regarding massive wages he's paying to average players, I think he's not doing that only because of stupidity but to buy their loyalty. The players aren't idiots, most of them knows well enough that they won't get that kind of salaries anywhere else. It's neverending self fueled circle that just keeps spinning forever.

So now we've bottled the 2008, 2010 2011, 2014 and now 2016 titles. Unforgivable. Yet this purgatory continues.
I'm still sick about the FA Cup exit to Watford as well
Thing is Sean - Had we gone on to do the Treble FA Cup in succession - The *word censored* would have been installed permanently - and would have been intolerable - with that stupid grin/sneer - you know the one when he thinks he is being clever/clever in the post match interview and pre- match press calls etc
The thing is OBG, I had really hoped for three in a row as I realise that TOF will likely never leave unless he dies. So any crumbs of silverware will lessen the pain of his continued presence at our club (even if the old fucker can't even win a League Cup)
The FA Cup is/was the only hope for a trophy whilst he plagues our club.
Piers Morgan has just said ''I've been told on very good authority that Wenger's been offered a new 3-yr contract by Arsenal. If true, utterly outrageous.''
