I really am feeling drained of love for the first time in 35 years of supporting our club after yet another probable failure of a season, so any ray of light/hope would be appreciated

To think the negativity in the crowd doesn't effect the team is naive at best. I've not a problem with people expressing views constructively but can and never will accept that at the ground, home or away, the crowd should do anything but support the team, including the manager, during the game and indeed, throughout the season.
I saw today, some kid post a thing about why he's 'left Arsenal to support man city' and this is directly as a result of listening to the dross spouted by ill informed, self opinionated nonsense about Arsene Wenger being a failure. It beggars belief that, while he is by no means perfect, people are selective in what they choose to hear or requote, quite clearly to suit their own narrative.
It has long been the case on here that people can't see the wood for the trees and for that I'm sad that the self perpetuating tosh that is spouted, adds to peoples misery.
Meanwhile I'll continue to support the team as best I can, whoever is in charge, and refuse to contemplate ever doing anything to lower the teams morale ( and the negativism can't fail to do so otherwise why do fans exist?) even if it means no one follows me on Twitter. I'm comfortable with my views and my informed opinions, I doubt that many of the opposing view re our manager are truly so.
Yup he's nearly 50 now , the famous R !Defiantly recognise the guy on the right, yeah would have been the 80s .....
Love the way some fans think we owe the team & not the other way around. It's like politicians, they have now got to the stage where they think we should be serving them. In truth football support is a reciprocal arrangement, we pay our money, give them our unwavering support and they do their absolute utmost to entertain and bring success to the club. This crap about giving your unconditional support to a bunch of overpaid posers who don't put in a shift & blame us for their on field failures is bollocks. They need to man up and take responsibility, respect is earned, not demanded. Crowds are not negative for no reason, the players & Wenger especially need to ask themselves why the crowd are negative.TeeCee wrote:BAAAAAAA BAAAAAAAAby Steve_I » Tue Mar 29, 2016 6:00 pm

He always tries to make out that the club is what's really important, what's really at stake, yet in reality, in his own mind, he is the club. He only makes statements like that when he wants to deflect. A deeply dishonest man.Gunner Rob wrote:so I have just been reading what Wenger has said at his latest press conference - he really is increasingly embarrassing.

how about if we had started to win games when you know we were still in the title race?
then he dismisses the question about his future

does the incompetentnot get it why the fans are not united? The reason for the anger is because of YOU! Yet he is trying to separate the 2 issues. unbelievable
Absolutely. A vehicle for his own ego and narcissism is spot on. It's about time the media woke up to this. He doesn't put anything above himself, let alone the fans or club. It's about him and only him and has always been the case. It's his way or not at all. It's the only thing I can honestly think now, as any other manager in any other club, would have bought the players that the team desperately needed. For five years, people have been talking about Arsenal needing to kick on. He has chosen to ignore the glaring deficiencies and inadequacies because his own selfish ego comes first. He's a proper dictator. Ego, power and self over the good of the majority.Wilson wrote:Ive always said he uses Arsenal as a vehicle to manifest his own ego. There is a difference between whats best for the club, and what Wenger wants to prove personally. Point and case before this season - what the club really needed was investment within the team beyond Cech. However, Wenger wanted to prove the critics wrong so he chose not to invest. The potential cost of Wenger's narcissism is likely to be a league championship, yet some fans and pundits genuinely believe Wenger puts Arsenal above himself.
So in addition to poor results and lack of progress, I want him gone because of his personal conduct, which I think is unprofessional. Also his narcissism and vanity has corrupted his judgement (I dont think he really believes in Giroud - I think he is trying to prove the critics wrong), you can say the same thing about Almunia, Denilson, Walcott, Bendtner, Djourou, Senderos and a hos t of others who got 4-5-6-10 seasons with he club without ever justifying their position.
Some say when he leaves we will only remember him fondly, which is rubbish. Sure when he leaves I will recall the invincible and double winning days. However, I will remember how he also poured unavoidable misery and disappointment on the fans simply because he believed he had grown bigger than the club, and subsequently turned the club into his own little pet. 10 years he has undermined this clubs capacity and inherent potential, at the cost of manifesting his own ego........10 fuking years.

you have to remember though that Wenger doesnt think Arsenal needs to "kick on"Gunner Rob wrote:[quote="Perryashburtongroves" Absolutely. A vehicle for his own ego and narcissism is spot on.
