Just look at this again, from 5 years ago:

http://www.justarsenal.com/wenger-if-we ... happy/7393

Quote:
"Wenger was responding to a statement from the Arsenal Supporters Trust, which reads: “There is disappointment among fans at recent results in the cup competitions and the long period Arsenal has gone without winning a trophy.”

Wenger’s indepth response was: “Let’s hope that in the whole history we will never be more disappointed than that and that, in the next 20 years, they will be exactly as disappointed as they are at the moment.

“If the situation remains like that, it is not too dramatic. As long as you are second in the league, I am ready to sign for the next 20 years and stand up for that. We’ve done well for our age and we are second in the league. Is that a disaster? There are teams who invest 10 times more than us – one player cost more than the whole team and they’re behind us.”

At every game I find people complaining. I don’t understand why. Do you judge this season or the last four? Some of the clubs behind us have done nothing for 20 years, yet suddenly get a lot of praise."

It's hilarious because this season, AGAIN, he used the "20 years" virtual benchmark when he said "we have been at the top for 20 years"....
Yet 5 years ago, apparently we had been succeeding for 20 years back then!

Time has apparently stood still. This tosser can't even remember his own made-up bollocks anymore!!!!

I especially loved the quote about teams that invest 10 times more and where 1 player cost more than a whole team, failing...back then he asked fans and media to slate and put pressure on clubs who spent way more and were behind.

It's not lost on me that it's time for us to respond to Lord A-hole's request, since Sanchez cost more than Leicester's first choice 11. How deliciously funny.

My biggest issue with Wenger and the club, is the constant pleading of poverty. FFS, Arsenal generate more match day revenue than any other club in Europe, given the ticket cost of 60,000 available seats.

Its an insult for Wenger to keep using phrases and innuendo's that portray Arsenal as a poor club, and he a manager that is battling against the financial might of others, and that we should be thankful he is here to make the most of our 'limited' resources.

But as I said, highest match day revenue in Europe. But we also have players like Walcott on 140k a week, Giroud on 100k week, Arteta 80k a week, Rosicky 85k a week. Now if finances are tight - you dont willingly pay these caliber of players such high salaries.

I would say giving these salaries so freely to luxury players, is a sign money is no issue. Arteta is like a right hand man to Wenger, a de-facto number 2, yet he is paid a base salary that would attract some of the best midfielders in Europe (80k a week and London location - is a massive draw). Then we have Walcott earning more than Ribery, Robben and apparently Neymar . Yet we dont need Theo, as he simply sits on the bench, yet Wenger has indicated he wants to keep Walcott. So Wenger pleads poverty, yet wants to keep one of the highest paid attackers in world football, as a luxury option of the bench. How many other poor clubs have the option of paying 140k a week to an impact player? Rosicky was at best a sqaud player the last time his contract was negotiated, why was it renewed at 85k a week? When you can freely give 85k a week to a aging, injury prone sqaud player - ya not working on limited resources!!!

This is the insanity of it all. Wenger just makes sh.. up. He lives in a world that isnt true. I really cannot comprehend why Wenger is portraying Arsenal and himself as having limited resources. For two reasons. One, we have resources - the evidence is in the cash accounts and match day revenues. Two, we are using those resources (just horribly), which is evident that our wage bill is not far of Chelsea and Man City, and why wouldnt it be, City pay Sterling 160k a week, we pay Theo 140k a week - WHATS THE FUCKING DIFFERENCE?

The worst thing, no journalist calls him out on it. You couldn't do this in business or politics - just make sh.. up and run with it without anyone saying 'hang on, thats not even close to being true'. Yet Wenger has been doing it for years, and he has been doing it so long, he probably believes his own dog shit lies.

He will certainly get offered a new contract that much is certain and as we seen cares little for fan reaction, really cannot see why he will not sign it

Will be a sad day thats for sure...as we all know hes an obstinate ego maniac who thinks he built the club

I am second guessing here but would put money on him staying

Oh well there is always Brentford i suppose

PSG's limp dicked exit from the spunk fest league last night all but guarantees Blanc the sack in the summer......which means they're gonna be in the market for a manager!!

Arsehole Turnip, come on down the price is right. Now obviously with one year left on his contract we'll have to be suitably compensated for letting the great man go but I'm sure moneybags PSG will have no problem with that.

Imagine not only getting rid of the fraudulent fuckwit but actually getting paid for the privilege. Its a match made in heaven, he can be within walking distance of the Canal + studios where he can piss away the summer while all the other managers strengthen their squads. His rapper tart lives close by and even though PSG had the title already wrapped up in early March this year I'm confident L'Asshole can get them to scrape into the top 4 next season.

Au revoir DICKHEAD :barscarf:

I think that serious fan protest would also awaken the board - vocal protests inside and outside the bowl, fan fighting inside and outside, and empty seats aplenty would certainly create alarm in the boardroom and might make them realise that is no longer a minority who want him out
No it wouldn't.

Fighting fans would get bans and make way for some from the waiting list. Protests on Arsenal property can only lawfully take place with their permission. They won't get it and the police would be asked to move them on. Protests in the ground would result in ejection and bans making way for a few more from the waiting list.
And this last one might surprise you most. Whilst there is a definite majority on here that want him out it's still only a minority of the overall fanbase. It's growing, there's no doubt about that but it isn't anywhere near 50% yet.

Augie, you're clinging on to a hope that isn't going to happen mate. The sooner you accept that he's here for a while longer yet, the sooner your heart attack chances will drop.

Fan fighting is silly and the trademark of brainwashed militant AKBs but in the current climate after Winter making waves this week if banners are revealed on tv on Sunday and the club is seen or reported to chuck out peaceful fans for it then the story will run and run and the climate will worsen.

And I still maintain that both firmly anti- or pro-Wenger fans are both still in the minority of match going fans. Most people at the Emirates seem to have no form views either way, little passion for the game and are generally unaware that there is a match happening in front of them.

I used to slate people on here years ago for broadly slagging off fans who spend their hard-earned cash and time to watch the club, but going to home games is just a dire experience nowadays - and not because it's a Wenger love-in but just because the ground is filled with people who seem relatively disinterested. People put down a small fortune to watch the same stuff every year and odds are you are more likely to hear a humorous comment coupled with a wry smile than a chant/song/shout in most places at the ground - it's like going to matches at the Emirates is one big inside joke and I just don't get it.

Wenger going to a club with huge transfer and wage funds, a transient player base and such demanding expectations that they have just sacked their manager for coasting to another league title and only reaching the CL quarters.

Sounds about right

I wish that this was true, but he won't go to a team that has CL expectation. I would imagine that they may be angry when they scrape the 4th placed trophy under his tutelage.

Reading through the first couple of pages is hilarious. Its full of AKB'S, there was even one guy who said a fan should "go and support Chelsea", if they want Wenger out :) I'd love to see some of these guys come on here now.
