Arsenal are bracing themselves for a flurry of offers for their British talent this summer.

Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs, Calum Chambers and Carl Jenkinson could be targets for their Premier League rivals and there is a growing feeling that the Gunners are prepared to sell.

The prospect of having their current homegrown core ripped out means they have had to intensify their domestic scouting operation and their 'spies' have been instructed to identify British talent under the age of 23.

Sounds like more BS, more smoke.... I can't see him ever getting rid of his love child Ramsey and even if he wants Walcott out who in their right mind will pay him 140k pw?? Ox I can see going and Gibbs too. There are non English missing from the list- Arteta, Mertersacker, Rosicky and GIROUD!! Also don't get why we are looking for English talent, how many of them have worked out under Wenger before??

Arsehole Turnip, come on down the price is right. Now obviously with one year left on his contract we'll have to be suitably compensated for letting the great man go but I'm sure moneybags PSG will have no problem with that.

Imagine not only getting rid of the fraudulent fuckwit but actually getting paid for the privilege. Its a match made in heaven, he can be within walking distance of the Canal + studios where he can piss away the summer while all the other managers strengthen their squads. His rapper tart lives close by and even though PSG had the title already wrapped up in early March this year I'm confident L'Asshole can get them to scrape into the top 4 next season.

Au revoir DICKHEAD :barscarf:
They certainly won't go after a manager who won't spend money and can't get further than the last 16 in the Champions League. Wenger is a spent force in European football. He had the chance and blew it.

So what if Mourinho, Pep and Fergie never went a season unbeaten? AVB went a season unbeaten with Porto FFS.

If you go a season unbeaten, you win one trophy.
Ultimately you are right, you do only get one trophy for an unbeaten season.
However the league has being around since the 1800s (apparently football did actually exist before the premier league!) and in all that time there has only been 2 unbeaten seasons.

It is one of those records we actually can be immensely proud of.
Absolutely right.
The Messi years of Barcelona are yet to record an undefeated season.
If Liverpool can dine out on 5 European Cups then by heck we can dine out on 49 unbeaten games.
We also got TWO trophies for that season. One gold one...has any other team got one of them yet?
To add I'm proud of that feat doesnt mean I support Wenger. I support Arsenal.
I still rib the scousers about that night at Anfield in 1989...doesn't mean I want George Graham as manager.
Yeah good point. The Messi years of Barcelona in that comparative period have been minor eh?

Since 2004: 3 CLs, 2 Trebles, 1 Clean Sweep (Six Trophies in a season!), oh and 5 Ballon d'Or winners.

Since 2004: one unbeaten season.
I'm sure Messi would swap those 2 Trebles for an unbeaten season :coffeespit:

Don't get me wrong, the Invincibles was a fab achievement no question. But for anyone to compare it to what Barca, Madrid, Inter have achieved ie European Cups and Trebles, shows the extent of revisionism that exists.

An unbeaten season is a top achievement.
A Treble will ALWAYS be superior. Not even comparable
I was merely making the point that an undefeated season is a remarkable achievement. I don't recall saying Barcelona under achieved. They just haven't gone a season undefeated. Neither did the great Liverpool and Man Utd sides of years gone by.
With all the hype around Barcelona you'd think they are unbeatable...

As long as we have wenger, we will always have wally - sad but very true

I would applaud ox and wish him well if he decides to leave - he isnt getting enough game time with us, and he will never fulfill his potential if he doesnt get more playing time AND better coaching. Too many players opt for the cushy life sitting on the bench whilst earning a fortune, and it would be good to see a player sacrifice that in the hope of playing regularly 8)

I honestly cannot see gibbs going either if I'm honest - he falls into the category of those who have taken the easy option of being a squad player for far too long and now I am not sure how high his stock would be with other clubs (we def wouldnt get much of a transfer fee)

Typical Wanker. Find a scapegoat or scapegoats and pin the blame on them. Once upon a time it was referees, then it was the FA, then it was inherent xenophobia in English football, then it was too much international football, then it was an over-inflated transfer market and oil money, then it was too many foreigners, then it was Arshavin, now it's the English players. No, old chap, it's not outside factors, it's you, you stupid old *word censored*.

Aren't you supposed to have a certain number of English/Homegrown players in your squad?

Yes but because the standard of english players is basically shite, it's hard to justify having any of the f.uckers in the squad

Have just read through the last two day's postings on arseblog in the hope of seeing a mention or reaction to henry winter's comments at the ast meeting on monday night, and guess what I found..........nada  I know that it is possible that it was mentioned in his arsecast podcast (I wont listen to that as his voice grates on me), but I would have expected that he would be more inclined to discuss it on one of his daily posting's but I guess that it doesnt fall in with his arsene kissing formula

May have been mentioned previously today or last night, but Ronaldo has scored more Champions League goals since September 2013 than Arsenal FC.
Hit Wenger with that on Friday at the Press conference.

His reply " Yes, but he has also scored more goals in the Champions League than Swansea or West Brom..looook we are in a privileged position to compete in this competition, I tell you there are many clubs who would like to be in our position of 407 years consecutive qualification since I built this club.. I do not concentrate on Ronaldo, everyday I concentrate on what is available to us and the quality they have...I tell you I could have signed Ronaldo in 2004 but we had Arturo Lupoli developing at that time "

I thought that particular worm had turned after the debacle against Swansea reserves but it seems normal service has resumed on there once more. Although, I admire the fact that the only reason you read it is to get annoyed, a man after my own heart

Yes, this is the problem with it all. Bought in in the first place as much to fulfil a quota as actual expectation on the playing side. Now we have a squad full of decent but eminently improvable players that won't get any better from this point (Walcott), young players who got bought but then stalled and have already been improved upon, thus leaving them in limbo (Chamberlain) and hopeless injury cases (Wilshere).

The entire BritishCore experiment at Arsenal has failed since 2011 and is the unequivocal example of why quotas in football are wrong. I think we're paying the price for that more than any other club.

Yet the rules won't change, so expect more of the same and the next generation of failures-elect to come through the door this summer, starting perhaps with Ben Chilwell from Leicester, England's next great hope at left back. :|

And there you have it........ Gibbs is most likely to leave at the end of the season, with Leicester's Ben Chilwell viewed as a long-term replacement.

Though why Chilwell will leave a title winning club to come to a bunch of perennial also rans is anyones guess.
