What's most upsetting is, Spuds are everything we are not. On the rise, exciting to watch, powerful and incisive, fast and hungry for victory. In Kane they have a top class forward who is pretty much never injured (shame we can't get him to holiday at London Colney in the summer). Alli is the best young midfielder in the PL and in Alderweireld or whatever his name is, is a very good CB who also scores goals. Lloris is a decent keeper too. They have a very good spine. With CL football and an ambitious owner/board, they will go out and spend in the summer so god help us if they sign a top quality defensive midfielder (silly me, Wonga says they don't exist) and another top striker and they will be very very competitive again next season. Whilst we just stagnate more and more, we'll sign another fucking below 10m mediocre player like El Nanny in the summer and we'll start next season with Gabriel first choice CB and Giroud and Wally up front. Jesus I cannot remember following Arsenal being this depressing, even in the early 80's when we were shit but it was what we expected!! Now we should be right up there with the best but we are nowhere near them. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

To be honest they are on fire at the moment, but I think this is there one chance to win the league, they've had the devils own luck with injuries and their squad is pretty thin, the big guns of City, Chelsea, United & Liverpool will all be better next year, still they will piss all over us if TOF is still in charge

The irony is not lost on me that the performance really giving them hope is smashing Stoke away, a game which we have failed and failed and failed at.

I would put them as joint favourites to win the league with Man City as things stand now.
Alderweireld - 34 starts in 34 PL games
Dier - 33 starts
Alli - 31/32 games since coming into the side
Eriksen - 31 apps
Kane - 34 starts

Whilst nobody else's injuries are as much of a calamity as us, and credit to them for managing their squad, add in 6 tough CL games in 2 and a half months before Christmas together with the travelling and not being able to play the kids like the Europa League plus probably 2-4 games in Feb/March, there's no way all of their key players will be so fit and fresh.

Without taking the time out to check, I dont think that they have played the kids in europa league all that much - imo it wont be extra games that might kill them next season, but is more likely to be the extra mental pressure that playing in champs league will bring. For a club like them, playing in champs league is a big thing and every game will be a big game for them and that is pressure that they aint used to

TeeCee , spot on , they are everything i would want us to be at the moment. Fxxk me if they win it and i think for a start that they will win the next three atleast it will be a nightmare.
The fact they sing 'arsene wenger we want you to stay ' says it all , doesnt anyone on our board realise what this means , that he is past it ,a joke !

augie.
That they're contenders for the PL Is pressure that they're not use to, as well as maintaining a generous lead over us, including their big goal difference. It's all new to them. Each game in the past few months has been huge for them, and they've showed up almost 100% for each challenge.
They are coping very well with the extra mental pressure. It's something we're incapable of doing these days.
I think that, unfortunately, they will relish next season whether they win the league next month, or not.
I actually envy the way their squad has dug in and not just grinded out a few results, but put other teams to the sword, especially recently when the pressure kicked in. Stoke 0-4 for instance. It could have been 0-7?
It reminds me of Arsenal, and when we would do that.

That is what we should have done to stoke in January but we (me included) celebrated a draw.

At least Kane showed his strike against us wasn't a fluke as he did it again.

It's no surprise that both Leicester and Spuds have fixed they're dodgy defences and they are fighting for a title. We haven't are not anywhere close because of it.

No team will win the PL title now without a striker who hits 20-30 goals a season. I've always thought the same. With Wrighty and Titi in the side we always had a chance because we had strikers who could get something from nothing and win a game we played totally shit in. We don't have that now, these days it's pass pass pass and hope the opposition fall asleep. The striker position is paramount to being able to win the title IMO. If we start a season with Wally and Giroud as our strikers, we are out of the PL race right at the start without playing a game!!

But TC we have Olly and Wally, no way can Kane, Vardy, Aguero or even Lukaku compare to those two, i'm just not having it

Quite right TeeCee and I have long said (and I'm sure most agree) that nobody has ever won it with such a poor lead striker as Giroud.

there were people that always had a ready defence of giroud who always popped up when he bagged his typical close range finish against bottom half canon foder as recently as this september, but this season he's been further revealed as the average duffer he is. i'll admit last season he sure had his moments but honestly the only reason he's had some mild success here is because of the huge chance creation we offer him, and the perseverance with him by wenger.

it's honestly so infuriating as wenger has kept him to spite his critics and he's just pissed straight in his face time and time again yet as soon as he gets his customary tap in against stoke he's the hero yet again. reminds me a lot of rooney and england, only that's a case where the striker has a lot more ability.

1,000 Correct...If we had Pochitino - we could be even better than they are now. There's a scum fan in another department (in work) and he said if there were another 10 games to go instead of 5 they would in the prem - and as much as I hate them - i think he may have something...because even if we had another 10 games to go - we would still fuckitup....
