THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

No point Wenger offering them more money if he is still going to be the manager. Nothing will change.
Ultimately it is the task of the manager to extract the best from his players. Allowing Ozil, Sanchez and the rest to believe ambiguous ambivalence will earn them even better terms will only preserve the toxic status quo among the players.

Wenger is guilty of failing to prepare teams for games both tactically and mentally. He deserves the worst form of fan abuse and derision.

He simply has to go, now!

BBC:

Liverpool are in advanced discussions with prospective new Middle Eastern owners who could provide the club with a huge summer war chest. (Daily Star)

Also been reported elsewhere. Poor Arsene so next season could have:

Oil money Chavs
Oil money Citeh
Oil money Everton
Oil money Mickeys
Evil money ManYoo

Then there's crisp money Leicester
Without forgetting errr...mentally unpure Spuds

Poor Arsene. 4th next season would be his greatest ever achievement and deserving of a new deal

And the club has released a new video of the players playing 'headis', a table tennis like game using a football and you head it back and forth.

Are they really that fking ignorant? It was the club who released the video of AOC dancing in the tunnel before the game, now they do this.

They really do live in the ivory tower and have no idea the sentiment among the fans.

They will be in for a shock in the 75th minute.

Arsene Wenger has said the title race is "far from over", despite being in fourth, 13 points behind leaders Leicester.

His side have drawn their last two games. "Against West Ham and Crystal Palace we were not efficient enough. That is a regret," said Wenger.

"Every time it doesn't work you question yourself, it is part of the job. In the end it is always down to me and I stand up to that."

first bits coming through from the Arsenal press conference.

apparently we should be pleased that we have blown the league title to little Leicester City.
Wenger stated “It makes everybody happy. It proves it’s also not just about the money.”

No its not about the money you arrogant specialist in failure - it is about having a manager who is capable of getting the best out of their players.
NOW PLEASE JUST FUCK OFF!!!

he has said again that he will be here next season. :banghead:

you have to wonder though at what point Kroenke and his cronies become more of a problem at Arsenal than Wenger?
basically Spurs could win the league, we could drop out of the top 4 and yet Wenger can still dictate when he wants to leave??

I am beginning to think that we are going to end up like Newcastle United - they are a "big" club in terms of past glories, and still retain a large fanbase. There is no longer any appetite to win things at Arsenal, and once the traditional fanbase is finally removed it will become easier to sell the mediocrity. There is a misconception about qualifying for the CL. Kroenke really wont be bothered now that the new TV deal is in place - as long as he has a team in the PL that is all that he will be bothered about.

Yes exactly as expected this is his response to being out of title race.......

It makes everybody happy,’ he told reporters. ‘It proves it’s also not just about the money’.

What an absolute fucking wanker, he has to be forced out of the club by any means possible

I actively want us to lose tomorrow night. I know its not a popular opinion, but this game means nothing(unless your worried about top 4 finishes). The idea of this arrogant, smug, bastard, using a good result against WBA to justify his outdated methods, just sickens me. Things could get interesting if we lose tomorrow, especially with the Sunderland game, and the prospect of more banners and protests coming out against him.

HOW, how does he stand up to it??? By giving them the day off, talking about concentrating on the "next" game, winning all our remaining games, looking over our shoulder because it is important we maintain........ and talking about "mental" this, that or the other....

I have never seen ANYBODY, in any position of management, in any walk of life of getting such an easy ride, of being so totally unaccountable. In fact he gets rewarded!!

Our conversion rate from shots to goals would shame a pub side. It’s nobody’s fault, of course; it’s just a lack of efficiency, or the other team defended too well, or it wasn’t predicted in Wenger’s horoscope.

Nothing at all to do with the fact that Wenger is an incompetent buffoon and his current crop of strikers are universally poo.

This is the guy who said that he couldn't find anyone better than Giroud in the transfer market. Goal scoring wise, Jermaine Defoe is better than Giroud this season :banghead:
