THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Certainly not to our scouting team who work 24/7..
Well, look at the careers of the players that have left us in the last 10 years...

Nasri, Clichy, Toure, RVP, Fabregas, Hleb, Henry, Reyes...

And then there's
Bendtner, Djourou, Senderos, Jay Simpson, Henri Lansbury, Alex Song, Denilson, Barndoor, Emmanual Thomas,...

They've taken the obvious red carpet route...

Seriously do you think that wenger feels under pressure or does he realise that there is some discontent ?
The thing is that our fans are just too nice ! Look at ticket prices , barely a complaint , and then look at the victims , mass walk outs at £77 per ticket but sod all at Arsenal.

I wouldnt be surprised if they all feel we aew behind him . Until it gets vicious thete is no hope of him leaving .

Jamie Redknapp just hit the nail on the head. Repeating what most of us have been saying for years.

Did you watch the whole interview? He had that smirk on his face pretty the whole time and despite mentioning feeling guilty it is clear he does not feel remotely guilty or responsible about anything that he has done wrong.

Even henry agreed that he has only once celebrated finishing in the top 4 (lasagne gate :barscarf: ) and that any position other than champions is not worthy of celebration

just thought i'd post this page from the same places Ike's came from:

Absolutely damning if you read down the page, but as someone said in the matchday thread, AW has to give Olly his chance at a France spot for the Euros :banghead:

2 other things.

1. You lot heard the latest AKB bollocks? It's genius: "Arsene needs to sign a new contract over summer or else the club has no stability. Remember how ManYoo performed that season Fergie said he would retire? Also we won't be able to attract top players if they don't know what's happening"

Point 1: in the final year Fergie had said he would retired Man United finished 2nd, runners-up by 5 points. Wenket hasn't been able to finish 2nd in 11 years of "stability"

Point 2: attracting the best players is impossible if Lord A-Hole remains. How did last summer go? "ooooh but he signed Ozil and Sanchez"....aaah yes. The 2 players who've refused to sign new contracts under him despite being offered massive pay hikes eh? Still. Let's wait for both to move before our fans accuse them of "going after money"

2. To all those who continue to make the laughable claim that fan protests can achieve nothing: dunno if you notice but Sky have clearly been issued warnings to not show the banners, for fear of informing our fans who matter most: the gormless sheep in our "key markets" like Singapore and Indonesia. It looks bad on tv see....Kroenke knows what's going on and the mere fact he, Wenker and Gazidis have conspired to try to silence the noise is all the proof needed. If the fans were inconsequential, they wouldn't even bother trying to silence them. But Stenker are DESPERATE for the fan discontent to stop. It's definitely rattled them.

I take back what I said 2 weeks ago about Leicester being a shit side. They work so hard for each other, score goals, create chances and have tightened up considerably since the first half of the season. How Wenger can look at them and not feel totally shamed is beyond me. Instead he is trying to almost claim they've proved the point he's been trying to tell everyone for over a decade and feels vindicated because, unlike everyone else, we did our duty by beating them twice.

I hope Leicester win it,they deserve it.

Spot on.

We've gone through dozens of centre-halves, many of whom had a decent pedigree before we got our hands on them.

Fuck knows what Wenger coaches them to do, because it sure as shit isn't defending.
I know Chambers had Huge potential till wenker got his mits on the poor kid. :cussing:
Chambers should have stayed at Southampton with Koeman or joined Pochettino at Spurs. If he carries on with Wenger, he'll be propping up a League One bench in a few years time.

I noticed we're playing West Brom on Thursday and then Sunderland on Sunday lunchtime. So that's Wenger excuse for when we get rolled over by Fat Sam.
I assume he's raised this during his press conference
