The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

And just to complete what I'm sure you'd agree would be a wonderful triple capture alongside Lorient's left back and the winger from Forest...

It appears we are "leading the race" to sign the left back from Loreint now.....which is just as well because clearly finding a left back should be top of our priority list :banghead: :banghead:

Our continued pursuit of average Ligue 1 players is embarrAssing. Ospina, Sanogo, Giroud, Gervinho, Park ju-Young, Chamakh - the only decent player we've picked up from there in the last 8 years is Koscielny and to be honest he looked out of his depth for a long time.

We used to be the only club seriously scouting Ligue 1 two decades ago and had our pick of the players. Now every PL club scouts there and it's not a minefield of cheap potential any more. The clubs there know they don't need to sell their best players cheap and there's always somebody like Newcastle (or us) to come along and pay £8-12m to take a punt on someone.

The quality has been there still but it has cost. Look at Chelsea - how many trophies have they won thanks to the likes of Cech, Essien, Drogba, Hazard? The latter three came with big fees and could have backfired - but they weren't scared to take a chance of quality. Just like last year when they had the title tied up in a few months because they identified two players they needed and happily paid the £30m needed to get them rather than taking a penny pinching or scattergun approach.

Went to Fulham with some forest mates 2000 plus away fans for a team that hasn't won in 8 and is hovering above the relegation zone, and has a owner the might drive them into the dirt.
They did give a monkeys had a great day out and cheered for 90 mins.
Some guy called Henri Lansbury scored a brace ,might be one for us :D
Cracking day out with some proper lads !

Reminds me, I went to watch Burnley play in an evening FA cup game at the city ground. Probably early 90's.
Stuart Pearce broke the leg of a Burnley player, and not even a caution.
Burnley's (then famed) suicide squad went stupid. I got turfed out. Hated Forest ever since.
I had Fulham in my bet yesterday. The only team to let me down.
Karma.

Be interesting what our starting line up will be for next season and our current squad.

still at the club: Cech, Bellerin, Chambers, Monreal, Kos, Merts, Gabriel, Coq, Ramsey, Wilshire, Elneny, Iwobi, Ozil, Sanchez, Welbeck, Cazorla

Outs: Flamini, Debuchy, Arteta and Rosicky.

Jury is out: Giroud, OX, Walcott, Campbell, Gibbs, Jenkinson, Ospina or Chesney.

A 25 man squad, (16 + 1 back up GK) leaves us with 8 squad places to fill. If Wenger just keeps the Jury is out players. It will be another season of doing fuck all and disappointment. :x

Rosie, if you think that ozil and sanchez will be still with us after the summer transfer window closes, then I think that staring at your avatar has somehow f.ucked up your brain - I'm not saying that both will go, but at least one will go if le cock remains in charge next season

:D :D I hope your wrong Augie. Because if true, it just shows how far we are regressing under this old fool. Maybe it will be a season of just staring at my Avatar. The bloody only excitement i will get, compared to watching those over paid tossers.

I would be very happy to see a video with a front view of her coming down the path - watching those babies bouncing up and down might distract me from the shite performances too  :gus2: :the_doris_2:
