THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Alienating the fans has shown him as not being too clever here, i would have thought from his perspective that would have been the last thing he wanted to do.....

Spuds 17 games 33 points
Arsenal 18 games 30 points
Man City & Liverpool 17 games 27 points

Someone have him sectioned under the mental health act FFS, the guy isn't well

You don't seem to understand that Top 4 in the 'away from home championship is 'winning'!!

"When you build a stadium, we had five to seven difficult financial years where we had to pay back: we had to be in the Champions League three years out of five and have an average attendance of 54,000 people. We didn't know we would be capable of that. We had to sell our best players every year to survive".

And yet retain our worst players on some of the highest wages in the PL. :x

Wenger has urged supporters of his team to take Liverpool fans' lead in gaining a sense of perspective amid growing discontent at a trophyless season

Seriously, a sense of perspective?? He needs to stop digging, he is creating a hole he can never climb out of.

I'm reminded of a Bill Hicks bit whenever Wenger opens his stupid fucking mouth now:

"Everything you say is suspect and every word that comes out of your mouth is now like a turd falling into my drink."

Yes; let's act like the Victims did when Hicks & Gillette were running their club into the ground.

Wenger blaming the fans? Who'd have thought it?

Away Team Champions

I think this needs its own thread.

Not only have we secured the 4th placed trophy, we are now Away team Champions. What a fantastic achievement for the French bloke, the first double of its kind in English football :barscarf:

I'm glad to see The Old Fraud starting to go on the ropes. Blaming the fans, inventing new VTs that we don't even have, comparing us to Liverpool

It's all getting a bit 'last days of Ceaușescu' in Romania. I'm sure they could source the firing squad from this very forum 8)

No fucking excuses. He should have won the title in 2008, 2010 and 2011 with the resources available. His failures there should have meant he was sacked by then. Now we've bottled the 2014 and 2016 titles. He really is a Specialist in Failure.

Five years later and he's still here :suicide:
100% Correct. Djrourou, Bendtner, Vela, Troare, Diaby, Walcott, Fabianski, Sczezny. All to feed Wenger's ego. He could have spent but he'd rather boost his ego instead.
Indeed. Didn't he do the same obsession-with-youth thing at Monaco in 1994? They soon clipped his wings there. He only won two trophies in seven years at Monaco as well. Once a fraud, always a fraud.

I do wish he'd fuck off and manage France U19s, or ruin some other club's youth academy.

Comparing the club and the fans to Liverpool now. Doesn't that confirm we are fucked under this tyrant?

'You peasants should be HAPPY that you're paying the highest ticket prices in the land and being mugged off, just to see us win the VT, failing to win the league for a dozen years and being a total failure in Europe for the full tenure of my reign.'

Hound him out! :censored:

What a complete tosser. Dare I say it, the press seem to be turning ever so slowly, though. There have been a lot more articles mentioning how he's pissing us off, these days.

Sorry, no it doesn't. It's just the same abuse that's on the Wenger thread. We really don't need to be modding 2 exact same threads.

Gonna merge it. Sorry, mate.

I can see that the photo was taken by the Alwyne Castle on St Paul's Road

I always thought this Redcafe photoshop from 2011 was very apt:
