I've been believing we'd catch them for weeks. The unexpected twist was yesterday's results which now means that if the Mackems beat Arsenal-Lite Everton in midweek (which they will) then the Barcodes game against the vermin will be meaningless

The Spuds have gone absolutely - and if we'd won today and Sunderland failed to in midweek, I'd believe it.....but I'm finally resigned to us finishing 3rd now, probably on goal difference

As for this non event of a match - I hope barely 40,000 bother to show. We'll probably win 2-0. Enjoy the lap of appreciation and make sure you stay behind because Saint Thierry will be ready to rubbish all of you who have the temerity to leave at the final whistle

Man Ure could be 2 points behind come Tuesday night and City still have a better goal difference, so he needs at least a point against 17 point Villa.....which means the big guns will all be rolled out to ensure we don't miss out on Olympiakos in December, and a Barca bashing in March
