I do agree with the earlier poster who said Suarez wouldn't have solved our problems. He'd have eventually been sucked into the Wenger malaise and all the spark he normally shows would have been hammered out of him within a year.
Mark my words if Wenger had managed to sign Suarez he would have spent more time playing on the wing alongside Giroud than up front instead of him.

If we had bought Suarez, we wouldn't have bought Ozil or Sanchez, so we'd probably be exactly where we are now. We bought Ozil because we didn't land Suarez or Higuain, I believe. Sanchez only was freed up once Barca bought Suarez, so we'd probably have ended up with some other French Ligue 2 winger or something.

I don't understand the plaudits...the game I watched saw Giroud score then spend more time falling and lying down on the floor when the ball came near him...

Re higuain, can I say that he is way above any other striker we have in the club right now, but at the same time I am not sure that he would have been a success for us - the premier league is the fastest (not best) football in the world and it is my opinion that, if you are playing the lone striker role, then you sure as shit better have some real pace, and I don't think higuain has that

Agreed.

He'd be a massive upgrade on Le lampost, but I don't think he'd be as effective here as in Italy.

Then I have no idea what game you were watching!

Look, it's fine criticising players when they deserve it but it's also right to praise them when they deserve it, even if you hate the player. Giroud was miles better on Sunday than he's been for months. Still not good enough to be first choice striker but if you couldn't see the improvement there on Sunday then I give up!

I always say we are an unprofessional team and club. And this is why. Wenger is happy 'Giroud has answered his critics'. What critics are these, the ones who said Arsenal couldnt win the league with Giroud, as he isn't prolific enough. 13 league goals in a season, and a 15 game goalless streak which coincided with our title challenge going tits up - id say the critics were absolute spot on. So what planet is Wenger on when he talks of Giroud silencing the critics? This is an analysis not grounded in reality. Imagine picking a stock, and over a 3 month period it goes down say 50%, but on one day is bounces back 10%. Would you say - 'see, I told you I was right' (your down 40%). Well the same concept applies with Wenger and Giroud - why is Wenger saying Giroud answered the critics?

How can you have an honest discussion with Wenger, when he thinks Giroud 'answered the critics'. It is LITERALLY the other way around, Giroud performance this year has vindicated the critics analysis. Yet Wenger just throws truth, reality, and sense out the window and says the opposite.

How can a serious football team be, when its manager is either delusional, or a serially dishonest person who blatantly lies, knowing the media refuse to call him out.

He was a bit better on Sunday - although it was not difficult to been any worse.

Him and Welbz are not good enough as the main man but I do feel he is a good enough as a backup striker 2nd 3rd choice.

Our main problem here is that people publicly saying Giroud and Ramsey and Walcott etc are not good enough to play in a PL winning team gets Wenger's back up. His ego will persist with shit and average players to the detriment of the team and club because he really doesn't like to be fucking told anything by anyone! :|

He literally would cut off his own nose to spite his face. :banghead:

He will ship them out asap

Yes think we can safely state this is the case with Wenger, the more he is told to do something painfully obvious the more he will resist it

That is one reason cannot see him going end of next season, hope i am proved wrong though :D

Giroud's comments after the game sum up everything that is wrong at the club.

"These last few weeks I tried to set up goals. [Alexis’ goal] was my sixth assist but I’m happy to score too and help the team to reach our target and qualify for the Champions League. That is a great present."

I hope you bloody well are happy to score goals you :censored: It is your job!!

As for "our target" Spurs are unhappy at finishing second, whereas our lead striker is happy to have made it into the top 4 :banghead:
