VILLA HOME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Another month of the season & we could have overhauled The Foxes & The Lazy Frenchman would have won the Golden Boot !!. Never mind we'll just have to settle for finishing above Scum again. Love it - Feck em. :barscarf: :barscarf:

On Arteta... I think he did a job for us in his first couple of years before his legs went. We should have let him go then. Still, I am annoyed we won't keep him as a coach. Just goes to show what a dictator TOF is.

The bloke was played out of position (as standard under TOF) and was usually on a hiding to nothing. He's a likeable bloke (and has a fit wife, to boot). Shame we couldn't have gotten him earlier in his career. He'd have got a few caps for Spain.

Nice to see him get his farewell goal. Perhaps the waterworks were OTT; but at least he cared about The Arsenal.

Finishing 10 points behind Leicester is nothing to shout about.
Total of 5 banners inside the ground today.
Decision was made (reluctantly) not to show them today. It was felt (by most of us) that with the turnaround and a lot of gooners elated and actually feeling like it was a trophy to finish above them, to let them enjoy the moment.
Personally I was a bit disappointed but felt it was the right thing to do. There were players out there with babies in their arms too and that contributed to the decision also.
Although fair play to forum member Redsenga who whipped out a Wenger Out sign when Wenger walked past. Ha ha.
Fair play, mate :barscarf:

Will you/others be displaying banners from the start of next season? TOF's waiting until the last day to re-new next May could work to our advantage; let him know that his lies, negligence and wilful underachievement are not welcome. There will be plenty of time to build the dissent to the point that he decides to leave. The standard shit results and performances can only help too.

Any photos of Redsenga showing TOF the sign?
I dont know if theres any pics floating around. It was a spur of the moment thing on his part. He felt he HAD to do something to let Wenger know his feelings and fair play to him.

As far as next season goes.......
Jesus this seasons only just over, give us a chance to recover.

For my part, I tired doing this. Its exhausting and frustrating. I get zero enjoyment from games where Im showing a banner.
While the banner thing has been good and served us well as regards publicity and highlighting Wengers inadequacies I reckon a new strategy is needed. The banner thing is predictable now. A fresh approach, something new, with banners popping up in random surprise attacks possibly.
Dunno mate if Im honest.
Yours and others efforts are much appreciated on here, mate :barscarf:

No point really - kudo's to those that protested and you have my total respect and support (from a distance :( ), but the reality is that today was the last chance that the banners MIGHT have made a difference. By the start of next season the French c.unt will have signed a new contract, and if you think that moving him from the position is tough when he has one year left, imagine how tough it will be with a new 3 year contract in his back pocket :banghead:
True. But we should at least try.

TOF's leaving the renewal until next summer gives us a good opportunity to force him to have a hissy fit and leave, especially if results are typically mediocre. I guess we'll have to give him a couple of months grace...

If there is another extension, we might as well turn off the lights  :(

Amen. It has been a slow car crash since Christmas. The worst thing is that it was totally predictable :banghead:
