The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I think we managed to secure Chamach from.under West Ham' s noses - so that was a real coup

It's why Wenker tries to stay quiet on transfer targets - petrified that other clubs are more attractive.

Ooh forgot we secured Ramsey from.Cardiff by paying him 3 x the salary Man Utd were offering ( story was Wenger was there personally, while the Mancs only had Giggs not Purplenose in their delegation )
Version I heard was Rambo was met at Old Shatford by Spiv Neville only, who basically showed him around the stadium. And that Wenger sent a private jet to fly him out to our training camp in Europe?
You may well be right , I forget the intimate details, the main point was we won a dogfight with them ( by paying over the odds)

News that Granit is in town today for his medical, ( not sure if it's ROCK solid) hope he finds Higuain still on the couch and we grab him too.

Well, he should be expected for this to only be stage 1 of the medical which can span over months/years. I think that Higuain had about 10 medicals over the summer before we decided not to sign him. If anything, you can't say that our medical staff aren't thorough, unless you are referring to pitch-related matters...

Big stumbling block is that currently our medical bed for players of Granit's height is in full use with Welbeck and Jenks.

Looks like Xhaka is going to be done very soon.

I for one would be delighted with him signing, he is a definite upgrade on Coquelin. He puts himself about and can play football too. He will suit our style perfectly.

Also getting one of the pieces we need early will be a refreshing changed.

Now go get a top striker and centre back please!

giroud is wenger's special project, and has been the last four years! no way is wenger going to attempt an upgrade on him.
we might be lucky and get a new centre back but that is it unfortunately. if the xhaka deal is done at least there is some sign that wenger recognises the weakness at CM, although I fear this is just a reaction to flamini leaving

Ramsey is the second part of Wenger's pet project. He's determined to show that pipping him from under United's noses when he was 18 years old was a masterstroke, and whether its alongside Xhaka at the expense of Coq, or out wide, he will still play over 40 games and be utter gash in nearly every single one
