Vardy would spend a fair amount of time on the wing which is fucking Moronic. Would have been the same if Suarez signed.
Exactly!

Many people think we would have won the league with Suarez ... but they forget to consider they Wenger factor and what he would have done with him.

This potential Vardy signing depresses me because I can see a lot of people getting excited about it and falling into the same trap they always fall in ... then having a go at those of us who have no enthusiasm for it.

A number of posters have suggested that Vardy feeds on long balls all the time, and while it's true that Leics often counter-attack with long balls, they're not a Pulis team, and many of Vardy's goals come from his sharp movement in and around the box.

I'm not dancing in the aisles over this potential signing, but he is a definite upgrade on Le Lampost and for the money seems like a pretty safe bet.

He may be a one-season wonder, but any player signed from France or Holland or Portugal is as likely to be a Depay or Kezman as they are a Suarez or van Judas.

If this signing happens and we can find a 'don't fuck with' me centre-half, we might just have a team capable of challenging.

For once we might be getting our business done early.

Maybe while we're showing such imagination by raiding Leicester we can just sign Huth and Wes Morgan?

Anyway I'll make a bold predicition. If we sign Vardy, we will finish 3rd or 4th next season. If we do not sign Vardy, we will finish 3rd or 4th next season.

How about an alternative version for the Emirates posh crowd

"Jamie Vardy's having a dinner party
Bring your red wine and your latte"

How about to the tune of "Same old Arsenal, always winning/scoring/cheating"

"Chat shit get banged, chat shit get banged"

As Nut flush said this looks as though it is going through:

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football ... persuasion

Mods can we get an 'underwhelmed' smilie along with the 'sarcasm' one?

Oh well if it goes ahead Wenger will have to adjust the way the team plays surely?

You can't have a proven striker who scores goals stuck on the wing providing for the lamppost who doesn't, can you?

Potentially as has been said Vardy if signed could be an excellent choice if we adjust to suit him and i do think he'll provide much better movement and choice for Ozil etc but if we stick with our current system he will end up as another Podolski or Arshavin, maybe even worse

When I see Sanchez pressing like a mad man from the front and he looks around at the likes of Walcott and Giroud playing with their hair, I can't help feeling having another energetic player up front will just galvanise others to do the same.

One of our biggest faults over the last few seasons was how slow we made games when the bus was parked. For me this would be a great signing.

I don't think Vardy would be a bad signing for us provided he could continue last seasons form, my problem is i cannot see AW adjusting the team to suit Vardy, he has never done it before for players who in my opinion were better than Vardy so i can't see it now.

However in saying that if Vardy is signed i guess we are (in a way) 1/2 of the way to what we all said we needed to make ourselves a title contending team next season, the other half being a CB and a different manager! :barscarf:

One other thing about Vardy, Wrighty was 28 when he signed and we all know the rest. Vardy has a similar background, he's got at least another good 3 seasons in him.

£20m is a snip.

Looks like I'm going to have to use the Euros, to practice NOT referring to him as a rat-faced, diving chav

You've forgotten something GM - The world turns for wenger not the other way around - His ego is so big that the whole of the footballing world must do as he decides or else be forever inferior - That's why we've been winning all of the trophies for all of the past 12 years...
