As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Now HE IS "Quality"...Oh feck I would Love to see him at Arsenal.. I'm not bothered about vardy too much - even though he is a huge improvement on the lampost, but Carrasco....absolute "Quality"
Gary Lineker has urged Vardy not to join the "perrenial also rans" .
Personally I think this is the least of Lineker's worries, his focus should be on the pants he's gonna wear on MOTD next season or how he's gonna get out of it.

im already looking forward to the change in the commentators attitude if vardy signs...from "plucky little Leicester player earning the right to go down to win a penalty" to "dirty cheating arsenal"

I remember when he played against for Monaco and he looked electric and he's still only 22. He's more of a wide player than a striker but, like Griezman, he looks convertable.
Not too convinced about signing Vardy. Puts me in mind of that Southampton striker who scored shedloads one season, scored with his first touch for England, had a megabucks move to Liverpool then fell so far off the radar that I've forgotten his name. I like that he's direct and can score from anywhere but I wonder if our approach will suit him. If he can get in tune with Ozil it could be prolific.

Absolutely. You just know it will happen as soon as there's anything remotely worth getting on s bandwagon about.
It's so early in the summer that it's hard to judge the signing of Vardy (if it happens) .
If no top striker moves clubs this summer then I'd see Vardy as a good signing. If however Higuain, the Dortmund bloke, etc. move clubs then signing Vardy doesn't look so great.
Time will tell but he's quick, works hard and scored more goals last season than Giroud and Theo ever have so it's not the worst signing. i'd like to sign a second striker though so we can tell Theo to piss off.

Which is what will happen with Vardy’s potential arrival. Walcott will be shipped out for roughly what we pay to bring Vardy in and he’ll then be shunted around the front positions while Giroud continues to shank everything into the stands.
Wouldn't entirely convince me and certainly won't prosper from a tippy-tapping, low-tempo, camped in the opposition half style of play.
But he's scored goals so if he does sign then fuck it give him a chance. One thing is for sure - the bloke is desperate to score and win at all costs and we lack that.
