The only thing I will NOT tolerate is shooting from outside the box. Other than that, have at it........MrT wrote:Inflated wages for shite players, no organisation or tactics, allowed to express yourself freely on the pitch with no discipline or accountability...Paradise indeed.Xhaka: "I will never forget his first sentence. Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Lets face facts. We offer very competitive wages, and can offer London location.
The idea its Wenger who attracts players is laughable.

It's not. Unfortunately, he is still very respected by players because he handles them with kid gloves and rubs their egos and pays them way more than they are worth. We are outside the game as fans and our opinions of Wenger are very different to most of the people inside the game.Wilson wrote:Lets face facts. Players talk amongst themselves...........I have no doubt that assessments from cesc, rvp, ozil and sanchez will not be complimentary and if ozil is criticising it will be listened to by other players such is the respect he would have across europe

Possibly. But then I always got the impression that RVJC in particular is not exactly a very popular figure in the game. We also have no idea if those other players actually are saying anything like what the media are speculating. Also, former players might be viewed with suspicion if they are bad mouthing their former club or manager. And I'd be very surprised if a current player would risk biting the hand that feeds him by bad mouthing his manager to other players. Maybe to one or two close friends in the game, but beyond that? I doubt it tbh. But who knows. They could be. But we have zero proof. It's pure speculation.augie wrote:DB10GOONER wrote:It's not. I think we have to accept that Wenger is not reviled throughout the game the way he is on here. I continuously have fans of other clubs mocking us for being ungrateful bastards and fickle fuckers because The Lord Wenger delivers a top 4 finish and CL footy every season. Mouser fans in particular seem incredulous that some of us want him gone. Seriously.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Now he is 'open' to the France job. Arrogant on two folds, as one, he shouldn't even count security in his current job, and two, why is he so sure France would offer him the job? Tournament football is tactical. Imagine him losing the opening group game and giving his standard response about needing to improve and do better. Ignoring the fact you only have 3 group games.

Again, you are looking at this from a fans perspective. WE all know how tactically naive he is. WE all know how limited he is. WE all understand the game (except augie obviouslyWilson wrote:Now he is 'open' to the France job. Brilliant, mate.

He is repected by those who know no better ,and a lot of our players know no better .DB10GOONER wrote:It's not. Likewise the massive overspend on staff ensures they tow the line !
There are many that feel a little different about Wenger the man and Wenger the coach starting with Patrick Vierra who hates his guts and thinks he is a shit coach and you wont find Dennis Berkamp saying much on him and dont mention Cesc Fabregas who loathes him .
Both are gentlemen though and see no value in slagging him and both enjoyed great succsess with him so would look ungrateful if they did.
The nearest anyone has come to spilling the beans is "stuart robson" ,mans a *word censored* but he laid bare some of the myths !
Those that leave often dont say much for many reasons but often its because they have skeletons in the closet ,RVP,Nasri
Both Ozil N Sanchez have made some very mild comments about the teams training coaching and mentality and both have been clapped for it !
One fine day things will come out about the great Wenger ,but not right now !

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
As far as players go, I think another reason we don't sign the big name top players is that they wouldn't sign for Wenger. These are probably some of the very few people in the game that can see through Wenger and are not blinded by money or the need to be cuddled by their manager. I'm talking about the absolute Alpha Dog world class players here - the few, the 5% maybe, that are driven purely by the need to win rather than the need to get rich. Sure they like to win, but it's a bonus, not the be all and end all for them. I personally think most footballers are not pure Alpha, they will go where they can earn the most in a short career, or where they are "comfortable", and all our current players are like that. Even Ozil and Sanchez to some extent. If they were truly pure Alpha and were motivated purely by that need to win they would be gone by now.
Look at Suarez for a good example of this. He delivered the goods for the Mousers, took a look at the team and manager and said "fuck this, I'm out of here". I'm not praising him for it, but it is a fact he is an Alpha player. But these top Alpha players are a very tiny minority in the game. The rest, the vast majority of players, are nowhere near that level and I would say they do view Wenger as a good manager.
At this point some gobshite will throw "but that's what VanJudasCunt did!" into the mix. Well, no gobshite, it's not. VanJudasCunt lay on his arse for 7 years before suddenly oh my God deciding he wanted to be Alpha. If that prick had done it 2 or 3 years into his time with us, I'd have applauded him for it - but then, what top team would have signed a perma-injured crock at that point?
Oh yeah - no team.
The game in general accepts mediocrity too much nowadays. You get mediocre shite like Fat Sam, Pulis and Pardew hailed on shows like Goals on Sunday as "top class" managers. You see PL teams stuffed full of bang average players and the asking price for one of those average players is £20million.
As my colleague Rodders said, the fucking game is going to eat itself.
