She told me last night that they had sold out of flags and bunting etc and every second customer was looking for them..I have no problem with people getting into the spirit but when they start telling you about the game you followed for years but they didn't it gets annoying.

Yeah we don't go abroad and wreck town centres but one thing the media won't be publicising is the Oirish ER rooms awash with head injuries every night we play. Don't agree with that first bit at all - our supporters behaviour is the way supporters should behave and why shouldn't they be lauded for it ? Our supporters know we have no f.ucking hope of winning the championships and so they are going for the craic - for many this is their holiday for the year and I don't blame them for making it a party. We all bemoan the fact that football has turned into a business and not a sport anymore, but yet when our fans behave like it isn't the be all and end all, they are slated for not taking it seriously enough We don't need an Einstein to point out the fact that this is the worst Irish team in the last 40 years and as a result our expectations are naturally low, so any progress we make out there is a bonus now.

I know that there is an argument to bringing these tournaments to different countries like Russia and Qatar in a bid to boost the game in those countries, but at the same time uefa and fifa should also factor in human rights practices, safety of fans and other seriously important issues - awarding those two countries the next world cups is nothing short of a disgrace

As someone that has been through years of both kickboxing and Krav training, I can say straight up that anyone that is properly trained in kickboxing, MMA, Krav or plain old hand to hand will make very quick work of some fat middle-aged drunk that throws a few loose punches. I've seen 5'2" 8 stone women that can throat punch a 14 stone bloke out cold in the blink of an eye. I couldn't help thinking that on Saturday there would have been far more carnage in the stadium had the England supporters been the supporters from the 1980s. We would have stood our ground more and taken on the Russians instead of just running away.
