The Russians will be there, given Lille is not far from the Southeast there are going to be even more ticketless england fans, plus no doubt some nutters who just wan't a punch up. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Welsh and English team up. I don't like trouble but if the Russians got a kicking it would serve them right, would take a serious number of England fans to turn them over mind.Gunner Rob wrote:anyway Marseille was a mere warm up - having the Wales v England match in a small town with a small stadium is a recipe for disaster.

Re: The ONLY Euro 2016 thread
Anyone with ANY knowledge of European football would know that Russia has one of the biggest hooligan problems right now, probably THE biggest, so to hold a match against England (followed by a large number of retarded muppets) in a cesspit trouble spot like Marseille and then not to police it properly is utterly utterly stupid beyond belief. For 40 years, fans of English clubs have suffered in Europe because of the actions of a few and to this day nations of c.unts like Russia want to 'prove a point' against the famous English hooligans. I went to Euro 88 in Germany and then Italia 90 and I could not believe the number of fucking idiots who were there for trouble (particularly Leeds fans I have to say). I stopped following England after 1990 because I'd had enough of being beaten by police, caged for no reason and generally treated like shit everywhere we went and worst of all, back 'home' the press were tearing ALL English fans to pieces printing lie after lie (I know this because I was in places where they reported huge riots/injuries/damage and there was NOTHING! There were hardly any English fans sometimes let alone rioting! Fuck them, it's just not worth following England, you're fucked from every angle and to top it all we're shit, always have been and always will be!

PS. When does the new season start so we can start moaning properly about Arsenal!!??

Mate no offence but I think you are being a bit nostalgic. These people are para military have trained for months and would turn over any conventional football firm. Watch that reg Yates vid I put up, the bloke in charge of their right wing groups lead a class on attacking their enemies. It involved using knifes to kill. This is a different level to any hooliganism seen in the modern era or past.[/quote]
Yea ok then you know better . Ive seen the footage and It looked fairly tame to be honest with you,as for taking it to a new level meh, its only because you've seen it on the TV .
Anyone who was at PSG in 93/4 will tell you that all those clips from the weekend put together wouldnt make up more than 2 mins of action .
Imagine being under sustained attack for the best part of an hour with 8 or nine full frontal charges against you and numerous snipes from all sides and you might begin to understand .
The welsh who are made up of mainly cardiff wrexham and newport will give them a much better run for their money of that I promise you !

Not sure what the proper fighting gear is...most Russians were in T shirts and shortsGunner Rob wrote:bit of both I think.nut flush gooner wrote:Mate no offence but I think you are being a bit nostalgic. Booze is Cheap in France and so are class A's and you can be assurred that every 2 bit dealer has stocked up in the dam and are selling in Marseille .
French Police are incompetent so chaos was virtually assurred, 10,000 Gurning brits ..........Nice !
The English Hooligans of today are a bunch that have grown up in a world where there really isnt any fighting and thus are not a patch on those of the 70's 80's or even the 90's and quite frankly cant fight so its no surprise they are getting twatted by the Russians .
Russians are ultra Nationalistic Racist thugs ,and thats the nice ones ,the others are pure evil and will use tools in street fighting .
I couldn't help thinking that on Saturday there would have been far more carnage in the stadium had the England supporters been the supporters from the 1980s. We would have stood our ground more and taken on the Russians instead of just running away. The outcome would have been worse though as we would have been no match for Russians in proper fighting gear - I imagine there would have been deaths in the stadium.
Anyway good that they did run away prevented more injuries...all this bollox about standing your ground is crap, thats no good when you are lying in hospital with head injuries and you life will never be the same again

Really think what Augie posted was a valid point about fans policing themselves
If you was in a bar and someone started on a foreign guy for no reason would you not intervene?

Watch that Reg Yates video and you will get it. I love it how retired thugs always have this ego when it comes to trouble. The average troublemaker wouldn't stand a chance against para military hooligans.

augie, in a real world people shouldn't get lauded for behaving properly, but it's not a real world is it.? The image of Ireland is a boozing one and the constant glorification of it by the media in sporting contexts should be a source of concern rather than pride...I also feel the "Green Army" thing has deflected from how poor some Ireland performances have been at tournaments.. It is a default setting, if any when the football fails we go into moral superiority over our travelling fans..Yes I accept it is good that they travel abroad with no adverse publicity, but why do we need the constant praising of it by ourselves and our media..? It isn't if we live in a utopian state at home. As DB10 says visit the besieged A and E centres after these games and see the carnage..augie wrote:Bradywasking wrote:The hooligan issue is becoming tiresome at this stage..I have no problem with national pride but this blatant ugly nationalism is a different thing..
By contrast social media here is all about how well behaved the Irish are, so fucking what.? The high fucking moral ground again..We are better than the rest..Jesus Wept....This utopia that portrays the "Oirish" as all singing all drinking all dancing leprechauns is a falsehood.. It is a football tournament.. Go for the football primarily not the party..
My daughter works part time in a local newsagents. She told me last night that they had sold out of flags and bunting etc and every second customer was looking for them..I have no problem with people getting into the spirit but when they start telling you about the game you followed for years but they didn't it gets annoying.
Listening to radio now and every caller is saying "Ireland win" simply because Ireland are playing.. Based on nothing else, nothing logical..Dare say anything else and you are a traitor...
Im in a bad mood today...
Don't agree with that first bit at all - our supporters behaviour is the way supporters should behave and why shouldn't they be lauded for it ? Our supporters know we have no f.ucking hope of winning the championships and so they are going for the craic - for many this is their holiday for the year and I don't blame them for making it a party. We all bemoan the fact that football has turned into a business and not a sport anymore, but yet when our fans behave like it isn't the be all and end all, they are slated for not taking it seriously enoughWe don't need an Einstein to point out the fact that this is the worst Irish team in the last 40 years and as a result our expectations are naturally low, so any progress we make out there is a bonus now.
Re the sudden know it all's, of course we all agree that there are literally tens of thousands of Irish people that fall into that category and they piss all of us off. Maybe it is the same in every country I don't know, but over here it is especially annoying given that us long term footie fans were treated as pariah's by every gaa w*nker in this country for supporting a "foreign pansy game"

Nut flush you don't know me but you presume a lot and watch way too much TV like most ,Ive seen the Reg Yates thing . . . . . and ?Watch that Reg Yates video and you will get it. You think we didnt have Boxers Marshall arts types Army Boys or wernt organised years ago ? think again !
Your talking about serious numbers needed ? you havent a clue mate .
The absolute last thing you want is more idiots getting involved and in the way ,the most Ive ever had with me is 60 and thats enough to
put paid to anyone if you have the right organisation and people who can and will er um actually fight.
Problem with Engerland is that there are many small groups from ickle clubs who dont know each other and who will run and leave you .
Russians are lumps and will for sure bash the granny out of a bunch of coke addled beer monsters but as DB says size does not matter that much its wht you can do !
Throwing Bottles and chairs is the modern english way but would have been unthinkable in my time which thankfully is many years ago !
Another thing we wouldnt have done is attack woman and children nor anyone who didnt wish to fight unlike the russians !

meeting Man Utd Liverpool and visiting Chelsea
