there was always something a bit odd about the Vardy transfer rumour.

lets face it we were never going to get him, Wenger probably didn't even want him...
but what good PR for the club, to try and make out we were going to sign the PL top goal scorer just before the start of the Euros...
no doubt it helped shift those last remaining season tickets.

so lets look at who has been brought in for next season - a Swiss international midfielder who looks barely a slight upgrade on Coquelin and Elneny.
we still need to buy that top class striker (wont happen) and a top class defender (unlikely)

nothing changes at Arsenal FC - all smoke and mirrors to try and convince you otherwise

Let Vardy stay where he is, he'll be like a fish out of water in London anyway. He'll have one brief season in CL and that will be that for him. No big club is going to come in for him end of next season and he'll be going on 31.

Wenger meanwhile is giving his invaluable insights for French TV at the Euros. When that's done, he'll go on holiday, then return empty handed for the start of the season. But he'll have spotted something new in Giroud at the Euro's and he'll be our "new" world class striker. Can't wait.

Don't you mean didn't he (Wenger) virtually sign him 5 years ago!?

Yes he almost, nearly, virtually did.

Not sure we can blame wenger for missing out on Wanyama. How can he be here doing much needed business for the club that pays his wages, when he's lining his pockets as a pundit on French TV. Give the old boy a break, no manager can be in 2 places are once :-P

No more midfielders as we have a ridiculous amount already.

Cazorla, Wilshere, Ramsey, Coquelin, Elneny, Xhaka, Coqulin, Sanchez, Walcott, Chamberlain, Campbell, Ozil, and throw in Gnabry.

With a 5 man midfield, we have 13 players which is more than enough for the mantra of 2 players in every position.

We dont have two players in every position at the back. We have Bellerin alone at RB, we have 4 centre halves, of which only 1 is capable with Mertesacker, Gabriel, and Chambers either too old and slow (PM), too raw (GP), or still learning (CC). Welbeck is out for 9 months, Giroud does not deserve to lead the line again. Wenger pursuit of Vardy is a de-facto admission Giroud cannot be trusted to score the goals. So if the Vardy pursuit fails..........look elsewhere. Dont sit their before the start of the season and say 'ah well, I ah, I tried, but you know.....eh.......its hard'. Sign a proper striker you Fing clown!!!!

Last year Wenger royally fucked up not signing any outfield players. Last year it was gross negligence to ignore the weaknesses in the team, such as lack of cover for Coquelin - which was exposed when he got injured. So how could it be, Wenger is allowed for a second season to systematically ignore the clear need to improve the team?

This level of incompetence & negligence is beyond acceptable. And has its pointed out, given the quality of managers and teams this season. The season will be unforgiving, an average season will net you 8th, not 4th. Last year was so sh.., an average season could net you a 2nd place finished.

If we replicate last years season - were finishing outside the top 6.

So Vardy has signed a 4 year extension at Leicester. Another slap in the face for Wenger. Nobody wants to play for us because a lot of players actually want to win silverware. So now Wenger will be at the Euros until the bitter end, a short holiday and then back empty handed to begin another car crash of a season.
