THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Will be bringing all his 30+ years experience and insight to the punditry booth for the euro final tomorrow, so expect fuck all to happen on the transfer front in the next 24 hours.......or the next 2 months for that matter.

Put me in an induced coma until the fucker just fucks the fuck right off :banghead:

What happened to the Wenger supporters who used to come on here and blindly defend him?
In the face of overwhelming evidence and reasoned argument spanning a decade they still claim Wengers the best man for the job "because he is" or because "who could replace him"

I miss those guys :|

Suppose when we thrash Middlesboro at the Emirates they'll be back claiming Wenger has "answered his critics" and "proven us wrong"
:barscarf:

What a strange, frustrating, awful time to be a gooner.

In a perverse way (Not a Rodder's type perverse though!!) i'm actually looking forward to the new season, it really could be the worst car crash we've seen for a while, but even if not we'll still be back to our rightful fourth place, none of this over-rated 2nd stuff :barscarf:

Don't know about anyone else, but I now believe that he is indeed past it. Said all throughout last season that was our time to break through. I believed that was the chance the manager was waiting for. I was wrong :(

They are sitting silently in the corner hoping, nay praying, that le cock pulls out his finger and makes the signings like they continually claimed he would (this is the summer where he buys cos he now has money and see's our shortcomings  ). IF he makes 2 or 3 more signings, those arsene fc supporters will use it as evidence that they were right and wenker is still the right man for the job - they will totally ignore the level of quality these players have (a few have partially defended signing the Japanese guy already  ), and they will totally ignore the list of quality players that have already changed clubs while he was out padding his bulging bank account doing a nixer for French tv.
There will always be an excuse for these ******rs and they are as big a cancer in this club as wenker and kroenke are

There are many like you and the same has happened to all of us during past 5 or so years. Everybody has his breaking point and all that... You are spot on about last season, it really was his best chance in many years and he royally blew it - again. And what has also happened during the past years is that he doesn't seem to learn anything. Again, our squad wasn't good enough and what does he do to fix that? Absolutely nothing.

wenger now has to compete against mourinho (never beaten) pep (beaten once at home in CL) klopp (beaten twice, also lost twice) and pocchetino, with koeman going to everton and bilic building something from the looks of it at west ham.

in typical arsenal style we've done fuck all to keep up with the pack :barscarf:

So Arsenal earned just over £100m from the PL last season (prize money and Sky TV deal), this season they are guaranteed a minimum of £81m for the TV deal, add in around 30-40m for the CL and it means we earned somewhere around £130m last season without taking gate receipts etc into consideration. Because of the Sky TV money, you have teams like Leicester, Palace and other 'little' clubs offering 30m for players.

So far we have spent less than a quarter of our prize money from LAST season on transfers, we must have a transfer budget for every season anyway, regardless of prize money so Arsenals bank balance is off the f*cking scale, enough to run a third world country for a year!! Yet what is Arsehole Wanker doing? Buying fucking no hopers like the Japanese lad, wasting millions on shit and other than his one token signing Xhaka (a midfielder of course, it's always a midfielder), absolutely nothing. In the meantime, top clubs around Europe have been strengthening whilst our waste of space piece of shit dictator (he is NOT a football manager) has been twiddling his thumbs apart from bunging an old mate a few million back in the land of the rising sun! Is everyone asleep at our fucking club? Negligent beyond belief, all of them, owner, manager, all the board. We are fucked. :banghead:

You are spot on. For the first time I now want the manager gone sooner rather than later. His system has gone stale and we need a change :|

Mark my words, this will be the season when it all comes crashing down. All his mismanagement, his egotism, his vanity, his stubborness, his negligence and arrogance, his failure to strengthen the squad, his chronic ignorance of tactics, his refusal to modernise or accept the opinion of others, his 'my way or not at all' attitude, his continual failures will come home to roost. He's neglected things for far too long, become a such a joke and become a by-word for failure, that no decent player will join the club under him. This is the season when he will truly come unstuck and made to look the utterly incompetent *word censored* he is.

He'll "threaten" to take the England job and then watch our feeble board rushing in to give him a new contract. Mark my words.
