Yep. Every fucking time there's a bit of pressure, he finds a job which is free and goes on about how he wants it. I'm wondering now though whether someone like Gazidis might just say "Well, go on then. Off you go," and call his bluff.Offside wrote:He'll "threaten" to take the England job and then watch our feeble board rushing in to give him a new contract. Mark my words.

Agree, this is the year..... Once again he'll fail to strengthen but this is the year his luck runs out. There are the big managers who'll dick him, then there are the others like Koeman & Bilic....etc who'll all have his number. This is the year the chickens all come home. His annus horribilis..... I look forward to it, the year the know it all is brought low.Perryashburtongroves wrote:Mark my words, this will be the season when it all comes crashing down. All his mismanagement, his egotism, his vanity, his stubborness, his negligence and arrogance, his failure to strengthen the squad, his chronic ignorance of tactics, his refusal to modernise or accept the opinion of others, his 'my way or not at all' attitude, his continual failures will come home to roost. He's neglected things for far too long, become a such a joke and become a by-word for failure, that no decent player will join the club under him. This is the season when he will truly come unstuck and made to look the utterly incompetent *word censored* he is.

I genuinely hope this happens, for the good of the club moving forward it has toxisstential wrote:Agree, this is the year..... What worries me is what will be left of the club once he has gone?
Lets be honest if some of our forebodings about the board and senior staff at the club are true, even if Wenger royally fcuks this season up and is forced to not sign a new contract who honestly believes that the club will appoint the right man to rebuild? Not only that though who (top tier managers) in their right mind would want to work for Wiggy, Gazidis etc if they are as restrictive as many on here believe

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Even if this season is shitter than usual, and Wenger decides to call it a day, does anyone really see him riding off into the sunset? The guy's ego is so big, that he will pick his successor(another yes man for the board) and move upstairs to dictate to the puppet that replaces him. Wenger will continue to leave his shitty mark on the club, for a long time to come.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Given he only has one year left on his contract, if this year becomes a disaster, how does the club give him a new contract, and how does he sign that contract in good faith?
Does he have no shame, to the point he would actually sign a new deal in those circumstances. Especially given the us fans will not tolerate such a position, and will boo and jeer him even worst than last season.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Whenever a team does poorly, and weaknesses are exposed, you look back and with hindsight and can say, oh yeah perhaps we could have done more, but how was we supposed to know ect ect.
But for many years know our weaknesses are exposed and its not with hindsight that you can see the fault. Last year Giroud was said to not be proligfic enough - he wasnt. The lack of cover for Coquelin was said to be a major flaw in our team - he got injured and we lost our strucutre with Arteta and Flamini dithering in the role. Then it goes back to the days when the masses said Almunia in goal would cost us - and it did.
So when these predicted faults in our sqaud manifest, I have no tolerance for Wenger. Some say its not Wengers fault Giroud stopped scoring, and its not. But so many said Giroud would stop scoring. And it happened and we suffered, and everyone knew but Wenger. Yet Wenger is earning 8m a year and does not have foresight even beyond the masses of Arsenal fans. We know this team better than Wenger. Partly because he is in denial and refuses to see the obvious, but also because he just isnt that an insightful manager. Posters on this forum have a greater understanding of our team than our actual manager.

Untold Arsenal - is this possibly the most Wenger loving site ever.....catering for all the Wenger lovers out there

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
something has struck me last night and across the whole tournament and it has also very much been a love in with him recently via pravada.com, but it wouldn't shock me in the slightest if arsene has bobby pires lined up to replace him
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
As a fan, I always hope we win every game, but I've noticed a trend from a section of our fan-base, in that they take individual results, and use it as a justification for Wenger to continue. Last season when we were on a shit run, as soon as we got a positive result, then everything was ok again. What the AKB'S forget, is that we aren't looking for Wenger to leave because of a poor run of form, we are looking for him to leave, for failing for the best part of a decade.falkirk goon wrote:Same hereBradywasking wrote:Getting more and more underwhelmed by the start of seasons..Used to be an exciting time in the last few weeks of the countdown.. Very true mate,it is his failings over this period of time that make most of us want him gone.Amazingly a scruffy win against fodder and it's all airbrushed out by the akb massesBFG4 wrote:As a fan, I always hope we win every game, but I've noticed a trend from a section of our fan-base, in that they take individual results, and use it as a justification for Wenger to continue. That's football fans in general though. When things are going badly it is the managers/owners fault. When things are going well you won't hear the owners mentioned at all.falkirk goon wrote:Very true mate,it is his failings over this period of time that make most of us want him gone.Amazingly a scruffy win against fodder and it's all airbrushed out by the akb massesBFG4 wrote:As a fan, I always hope we win every game, but I've noticed a trend from a section of our fan-base, in that they take individual results, and use it as a justification for Wenger to continue. Re: THE WENGER THREAD
So now that he's finished watching the "best striker in the Euro's" and the tournament is over, he'll probably head off on a well deserved rest. He knows now Giroud is back to his racy best with those 2 worldies against Iceland and the rest of the squad all know their positions so we are good to go....... Also you have to remember nobody called to ask him to sign them, so what's he meant to do??
Come back Wenger, get prepared to get your skinny ass reamed.
