THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

A short few years ago i would have defended Wenger to anyone but with everything considered i have come to the conclusion it has now gone stale at Arsenal, you can be somewhere too long. Wenger is now the 21st century Brian Clough and although we wont be relegated like Forest we wont hit the heights we once did like Forest.

The chickens are going to come home to roost later this year, never mind this season. Wenger really is a terrible person .... I find it impossible to find any sympathy for him. He is going to be wriggling like a worm on a hook later this season and it will all be self inflicted misery. His ego, his stubbornness, his inflexibility and his arrogance are finally going to bring him down. I'm looking forward to it.

Yep, me too. In fact, it's the only thing I'm actually looking forward to this season. I reckon the following managers are better than Wanker and will all beat him at least once: Maureen, Pep, Klopp, Conte, Koeman and Bilic. That's already between six and 12 defeats and then you add on the usual bollox at Stoke and the Swamp, plus the regular terrible performances at places like West Brom, Middlesbrough, Southampton and Swansea after a European game and I reckon we're going to be way off the pace. I've got a feeling we're going to be looking at 7th or 8th by the end of the season.

Well that the very reason why Wenger appoints such quiet, timid captains. He de-values the position to the extent that there really is no captain that could pissibly influence players or challenge him live Vieira.

Banning twitter users for what exactly
Sacking Henry incase he influences players
Appointing weak captains who wont speak out.

Censorship? I think so.

Zero football posts in a year, contributing nothing to this forum, then come on to defend Wenger and moan that theres no "real balanced debate" and this forum is "unpleasent "?
Behave yourself fs.
Is there really any need for that response? :?

Belfast has been on this forum since the beginning, he's a top bloke and entitled to his opinions. He's a moderator who used to be a regular poster but, like myself and Quartz, have posted far less in recent times for the very reasons Belfast describes above.

But regardless of what you think of Belfast and his post count, is a polite response really that difficult? - it's that unpleasant, arrogant tone to the forum that has seen it drift away from what it used to be.

This is the time of year when Wenger thinks he is ahead of everyone else. None of us have the foresight to see what he does, and our worrying is irrational and amusing to him. Then of course the season begins, and that grin of his slowly but steadily turns upside down. He is never humbled by his experiences. He never reflects and lears form past errors. He is so arrogant and delusional, that he thinks his way is the way, as he is Arsene Wenger and thus couldn't possibly be wrong.

Self-confidence is good, but when its over excessive, were talking about literal delusions regarding Wenger's self belief in his ability as a manager. When I say I think he is delusional, im not just saying it for effect. I literally believe he suffers from delusions of grandeur,

Well said, g88ner and BB. In the old days this place was fun. It was like your local where you could talk football, Arsenal, tits and shit with your mates. It has degenerated over the last few years into a place reeking with whiny bitching, arrogance and self entitlement. We have lost so many genuinely funny entertaining and intelligent posters because of this. We have a couple of posters whose main contribution on here seems to be shit stirring and/or mod-baiting ffs. It's time for a few people to cop on and grow up.

I'll never tire of highlighting Wengers mis-management as long as theres a breath left in me.

Oh and where exactly has an Arsenal twitter user been banned for being racist? Or are you just making shit up?

Okay, if you want to go down the childish semantics road, we will. Who said they had? Read my post again. Did I say they had? No. I said doing that is something I support. Never said they actually had, yet.

Opps how silly of me thinking that you were referring to the twitter user who was banned from the Arsenal for what he wrote on twitter. Wherever could I have dreamt that up?

Oh and nice to see some mods posting again even if it is just to back eachother up.

Ever stop to think that this and other Arsenal forums and indeed the Emirates can be so pessimistic and gloomy because of the never ending cycle we are in because of Wenger. Not because of the people who post here.
This forum reflects the malaise we are in.

And gooner and db your mate bb doesnt post for a year then comes on to complain bout the forum im entitled to comment on that.

armchair, BB logs on regularly, helps mod the forum and has posted plenty since the forum started so he's more than enititled to his opinions.... especially when expressing his personal reasons for posting less these days.

Anyway, yes of course you are allowed to comment on what he has to say. No issue with that at all - this is a place for discussion and debate. It just seemed incredibly rude and unnecessary to respond the way you did. I'd like to think your mother would give you a clip around the ear for it... I know my mine would!

Anyway, if we're going to belittle an old fart (sorry BB  :D ) I suggested we focus on the thread title instead and save our energies for Wenger :box: :box: :cussing: :cussing:

Ok mate. You're probably right. Maybe I was a bit abrupt. In my defence I find reformed AKB's worse than reformed smokers.
The Arsenal has given me some of the best days of my life. But also.....
Ive been spat on, slapped abused and almost arrested because of the Arsenal. Sometime I get a little impatient with those who were part of the problem only now seeing the light.

And BB welcome back. :D

Drop the sarcasm, mate. You are starting to sound like a bit of a dick tbh. My post was a general comment in relation to the issue of banning people from the club.

As for the twatter guy; was the ban for just criticising Arsenal or Wenger? Can you prove that? Was it for racist comments? Who actually knows - outside of the the guy and the club? What I'm saying is if it was because he is associating himself publicly as a Gooner and posting racist shite on the internet then I am fucking delighted the cúnt got banned by the club, no matter what his opinions are of Wenger.

Also, your whole anti-mod thing is getting tiresome. You've had a bug up your ass since a few people on here commented that the banner protest would achieve fuck all. And guess what? It achieved fuck all! Is Wenger gone? Is Gazidis gone? Are we signing top quality players now? You need to go spend some time on any of the other Arsenal forums and see how loosely modded this one is in comparison. Get the chip off your shoulder, no one really cares that much.
