So you've already written off Iwobi, on what grounds? He is quick and can get past a man (unlike wally), can pass and move intelligently, his finishing from what I have seen is pretty clinical.Redarmy wrote:Giroud played and Sanchez was on the bench....looks like Wally will be leading the line on the curtain raiser.....Wellbeck looks a long time outNos89 wrote:Did we? We haven't signed any strikers...we've added Iwobi to the squad since. As Seaman is saying ...sign someone...anyone
This is the worst start to any season in terms of preparation that i can remember and I'm going back a few years here .........
yeah same old shit , but had more striker options at start of last year....not sure who we will have upfront against Liverpool
In my opinon of Wellbeck , Giroud , Walcott and Iwobi none of them look good enough, you can add Chamberlain to that lot as well
They will win Nothing next season.....top 4 very much in the balance....

I'd take Iwobi over wallywonker any day - feck I'd take my long passed gran over wallywonker. Trouble is most young players that pass thrugh the wenker academy of tickky tack don't shoot end up being made worse.
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Every supporter of their club, always wants to see players come through their academy system and into the first team - that being said, I do think that some fans are getting way ahead of themselves re iwobi. The guy has fcuk all experience at the top level, so I think that it is premature to anoint him just yet. The kid could well end up being no better than average or world class, but he certainly shouldn't be a regular first team starter yet for any team aiming to challenge for the big pots next season

That's fair enough, but don't write him off as sid has done, until he has had at least a whole season in the team ffs. We gave wally a decade!augie wrote:Every supporter of their club, always wants to see players come through their academy system and into the first team - that being said, I do think that some fans are getting way ahead of themselves re iwobi. I see where you're coming from Augie but let's be honest - Surely you don't Realistically - believe we (The Arsenal) Under the Managerial Leadership of Arsene Wenger can or will be challenging for any 'big pots' aka: The Prem Title or CL !? - Also I think that if Iwobi and Campbell were given enough games they would prove far more able and useful than wallywonker and the Ox.augie wrote:Every supporter of their club, always wants to see players come through their academy system and into the first team - that being said, I do think that some fans are getting way ahead of themselves re iwobi. I still think we should have gone for Kante instead of Granit - okay so there's a £3million difference in price but Kante had a sublime year in the prem and I do not think he was a one season wonder...and Granit looked pretty ineffectual in the euro's...I hope Granit turns out to be a little bobby dazzler - But....SteveO 35 wrote:You can tick the "if the right players are available" box off on your bingo cards lads

yes he's the one with potential, had the initial burst when he started but seemed to fade, youngsters on big money can have dips in form, time will tell if he can make the grade as a top quality striker which we need to compete against the top European clubs on a match to match basisnut flush gooner wrote:So you've already written off Iwobi, on what grounds? Ineffectual?
He was man of the match in two of the group games.
Additionally, he has been an international for five years, winning 40 caps and he was voted into the 2014/15 Bundesliga Team of the season.
I'd have loved to have seen Kante in an Arsenal shirt but I'm also a optimistic about Granit.

I watched both of those games (I wanted to see if he is any good) and he certainly didn't stand out in my opinion

Would be funny if Mahrez signed for us after all the Vardy crap. I am sure Mahrez actually appreciates coming to the Emirates would be an upgrade on Leicester, regardless of them winning the league last season.mcdowell42 wrote:France Eurosport saying we met Mahrez agent last night and that Mahrez wants to join us,price circa 42m
