My glass is a bit emptier than that :D

I can easily see us losing 3 out of 4 in the opening 3 weeks. The bin dippers will have had a summer for Klopp to work with them and install some refined tactics, Leicester wont become a shit team over the summer, watford should be a win but who knows...and the saints could easily turn us over as per last year. we could be 9 points short of the top by the end of august!

Yeah this is what we need to get him out....hurts to say it but better in the long run

Yea but then he'll re evaluate the situation, hold steady, spend big in the January window, then launch a second half of the season assault on the title whilst everybody else is fading. Remember, this is poker :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I was on another Arsenal website yesterday where someone suggested that it isn't wenger that is living on past glories, but is actually the fans, The more I thought of it, the more I agreed with it - if our fans were still not basking in the glories from the past, then surely the loyalty would have long expired and the vast, vast majority would be calling for his sacking ? Instead we have fans who continually defend the man on the back of those ancient successes instead of living in the here and now

Ivan Gazidis on Wenger -" He remains massively engaged. He continues to think about not just short term but the long-term development of the club. He’s excited about the future, and we’re excited about our future with him".

So there you have it. There is no hope, Wenger is leaving next summer.

this basically is THE problem.

if the majority of the Emirates crowd had turned against him in the past couple of years then Wenger would have been long gone.
hey we might even be looking forward to a new season with Pep in charge...

but oh no, the AKBs will not have anything said against their great leader.

I do think though we are reaching the end game with Wenger - he must realise no one wants to sign for him anymore, and therefore it will be almost impossible for him to continue beyond this season

To be fair to Wenger he doesn't bang on about his past achievements. I rarely see an interview where he talks about the Invincibles. He might drop in the top 4 finishes in the last 20 years to show his consistency.
Unlike Maureen he doesn't use past glory to justify his current position.
Maybe, as someone suggested it is the fans who are living on past glory and not the club.
We've got to remember we are the only club in football league history that has had a 20 year run of consistently finishing in the top 4 of the top league. It will end, and we will look back on the days when we used to play CL every season and finish in the top 4. Enjoy it while we can cos it won't last forever.

He doesn't have to mate - It is done by 'implication' - a clever tactic that the club use time and time again. And sadly the Media gulp it all down like a whore does a bucket of cum in some hell-like-brothel. the Media do it for him(Wenger)..John Cwoss being one of the prime culprits.

The only ones who will look back with any sort of nostalgia at the persistent top 4 finishes, will be AKB's, as it will be used as a weak defence of their leader. Everyone else will look at the pathetic performances within the CL, and judge us by those standards. We will be getting KO'D at the last 16 stage, next March(for the 7th season in a row). The idea of looking back with fond memories, at a time when we won fuck all, and celebrated mediocrity would be really pathetic. on a sidenote, Diego Simeone has been managing Athletico for five years, and in that time has already managed to surpass Wenger's European record. Yet some fans, think being in the top 4 is something to look back on with happy memories.

I don't enjoy it, it's like watching the same crap movie over & over. Cruise into the CL, experiment with the team as we have 2 of the lesser teams in our group ( Wenger doesn't realise that's how those teams see us) one or 2 shock results, then a titanic battle to scrape through in second.... then get one of the real teams and go out in the first round of the KO's whilst all the money raised from this "effort" gets shared amongst the clubs elite, including Wenger. Which part am I meant to enjoy and which part am I going to miss???

It is staggering that this fraud survived 2011 without being deservedly sacked.

Another extension is surely in the offing :suicide:

For various reasons the only radio stations I can pick up at the moment are MW so I was listening to the two Mikes (Parry & Graham) on Talk Sport this morning. They decided to talk about Arsenal and this is what came out. They had Stuart Robson on to discuss....

On Mertersackers injury...Robson... we all know that players take much longer to heal at Arsenal so if Wenger is saying straight out the gate that it's months, it could be years. Kinda joking, but not really...

So who is actually responsible for the signings at Arsenal.... Robson.. Well it's meant to be Gazidis but everybody knows NOTHING happens without Wengers say so, Wenger RUNS the club. Wenger could have got Higuain for around half of what he cost now and if he had, Arsenal would have won the title last season. Wenger goes after the elite but doesn't offer enough, then settles for lesser players for much less money and they cannot win us the league.

Parry... but how much longer can Arsenal carry on like this, letting these guilt edged chances slip away, what is the problem there. Robson, emphatically, Wenger is the problem, if Arsenal had Mourinho, Pep or Conte they would have won the PL last season, they will NEVER win it again under Wenger.

Robson also spoke about fans attacking other fans who were critical of Wenger. He seemed almost incredulous.

There was more, a lot more, none of it good.

Parry said at the end that fans anger dissipates over the summer, the memories fade and the season tickets get renewed... then when the shit starts all over again in the new season, the anger re surfaces but then it's pointless boycotting the game because you've already paid for your ticket.........

It's not just us, there are people out there, even ex players who know exactly what the problem is. Pity there are so few who stand up to him.

That plank Brazil in the morning with Ray Parlour still think it's all good over at the Emirates. Of course Brazil seems to be in an alcoholic haze most of the time and Parlour is too shit scared to say anything in case Wenger comes round to his house.
