Pre-season Friendlies Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I fucking fell asleep after 15 minutes of our slow sideways shite :barscarf:

Might have something to do with being half-cut after a works do. But still...
You didn't take enough cola mate. :D
Must have been the Heineken and the double Johnnie Walker for the road, I think

I gave up cola a decade ago. I used to drink litres of that shit

Gabriel out with tonsilitis leaving Chambers as our most experienced CB according to Sky sports, you couldn't make this shit up... pre-season is supposed to be a chance to get the team together, training and playing warm up matches for the lead into the season. :banghead:

When will AW ever learn, mad trolley dash coming up methinks!!

I wonder how many more will go down before the start of the season, we could be playing a league cup side against the Victims

How long for ? I'm not a fan of Gabriel at all, but seeing as the BFG is out injured, and if we insist on giving kos (and the rest of the players at euros) 2 months holidays (  ), then Gabriel is the best/only option we have

Arsenal FC vs MLS All-Stars tonight, 7:30pm here. It's a friendly but these games are generally a good warm up for the team playing vs the MLS, since MLS is mid season right now.

Good first 20 minutes but heat got to them. Made a few chances didn't take them. So nothing new there Campbell pen and then Drogba. Ht 1-1.

It doesn't matter where he plays us, for which team, or if it's just a friendly... Drogba will find a way to score against the Arsenal. It's incredible really.

Arsenal won 2-1 Akpomb scored winner..Official Arsenal Twitter taunted Spurs after with a tweet saying " sorry MSL, this is one North London side you couldn't beat" .... That will be a treasured memory that will keep us going in the winter months when Chavs, City, United etc are destroying our clueless defence..

I was glad to see that Akpom, the "internal solution", score the winner so we can be saved from more "dizzying prices".

I have a feeling that the addition of Xhaka, Cynicalazaki Marketingajimo and someone from Bolton will see us lift that little beauty of a trophy in mid to late April!!

Agree with you cos I was in same boat

Have to say that I have only watched the first half so far, but it has confirmed again what I have always said..............wally is absolute shit  The first 25 minutes he was so shit that I was even wishing for girouds return
Likewise for the first 30 minutes, the ox was absolutely tearing them a new one - of course mr "I've been involved in football 30+ years" intervenes and swaps him and Campbell and suddenly both went out of the game and kept losing possession
Wilshere was the very definition of anonymous in the first half - elneny was constantly involved, coquelin less so, but I hardly even knew that wilshere was on the pitch in that first half :( I've gone from him being one of my favourite players, to one that I am slowly beginning to dislike and that saddens me tbh :( I think the reason why I no longer view him the same way, is cos I feel that he totally disrespects the club everytime he talks about his aim at being fit for englands games, and doesn't suggest any kind of interest in being fit for the club run in
