The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Also confirms that Wenger is looking for a striker :D Can't wait for the "we look every day, all over the world" comments soon. We're very active remember but nobody wants to sell. I've just sent an email to Lyon asking them whether they can put an ad in the classifieds section of tonight's Standard officially declaring Lacazette for sale because obviously nothing can be done without that in place
Another transfer window blowing in the wind but remember......

The answer my friend is not always to buy

We moved to a new stadium, were frugal with spending for years to pay it off with a view to competing financially with 'big' clubs and when we finally get into that position they say - money isn't the advantage it used to be as everyone gets more than enough from tv deals. So, in essence, their entire stadium strategy has been an epic and unnecessary failure as we are no more competitive than ever.

That to me is incompetence on a grand scale - forget the football side, if they run the place as a business then they've stuffed up. Their short sightedness that you actually need to win things to maintain your brand value is also lost on them.
Spot on. The last decade has proven to be a colossal fuck up. Utterly pointless.

I agree with your first sentence as well. I vote to set fire to those bastards in the centre circle of the Cashburton pitch :barscarf:

When the former manages to be part of a clean sheet against Astana in the exciting CL group stage and the latter rolls over Port Vale in the League Cup, TO1AW will smugly smile and say "I'm sorry they did not cost 30m"

I can remember the dribbling old tool when Captain Stupid came on for 20 mins at the Lane pointing and shouting and saying the same thing

Arsenal will make an improved £35m bid for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, 25, after having an initial £29.3m offer rejected by the French club. (Telegraph)

The Gunners are interested in signing Torino full-back Bruno Peres, 26, with the club wanting £16.9m for the player. (Gazzetta World)

Arsene Wenger's side are in talks to sign Valencia's German defender Shkodran Mustafi, 24, who has a £42.1m release clause in his contract. (Sky Sports)
