We can't move on the deadwood because of their inflated wages.

Wenger has always been far too loyal to his players. Where this has sometimes reaped benefits, most of the time it results in the squad remaining a level beneath where it needs to be. We will be stuck with them until their contacts expire.

I had the same hoped mentioned in the article about Oxlade Chamberlain this time last year after his rocket in the community shield. There is a player in there but I don't believe Wenger can ever get the best out of him. The player needs to regain his confidence as well but I think someone like Guardiola could really work wonders with him.

We got a fucking forest of deadwood thanks to Project Wenker

Media slowly waking up to Wenger i wonder?

Chris Sutton having his say on things Arsenal, way to mild of course but its a start

"I just worry about Arsenal again this season," he said. "They have shown absolutely no intent. I think the board and Wenger are letting the fans down."

Clinging on to the hope that the Ox (and Walcott) will come good is rather like hoping Wenger will win the league again or the champs league. You would love it to happen but realistically you know they had enough chances and it isn't going to.

Wally been at the club 10 years...........not the same thing YET

I agree.
I think he's a good lad, loves the club and has real talent. I'm sure it would help him if he had a regular position and was a regular starter. I hope he can continue his pre-season form.

They had some European fitness/training/ conditioning guru on Talksport today.... I wasn't really listening tbh but then he started talking about injuries and The Giggler (Andy Jacobs or is it Hawksbee???) said " like Arsenal"? He said yea exactly like Arsenal and went on to say that in the past 13 years we have suffered an injury every 5 days and have one of the worst records in Europe. Not the UK, EUROPE. What the hell goes on at our club under Wenger??? On every single front it's the same mistakes over & over & over.....

I see Wilshire is in a race to be fit for the start of the season after suffering a knee "problem." I'm sensing a "leetle setback" ruling him out until the New Year :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

The plan seems to be to make the Champions League more elite by granting SIX guaranteed place to Europe's top leagues..
So Sixth could be the new Fourth and the new VT..Ivan and Stan will be pleased.
That's ridiculous. As if they haven't fucked the competition enough.

I view the qualifying rounds as the real Champions League, even if it is all the minor leagues teams playing each other.

The PL top four getting in the Be All and End All is part of the problem of this purgatory that TOF keeps us in.

Indeed. I think TOF has fucked up way more players than he has helped.

He doesn't guide them. He doesn't tell them what they are doing wrong. How can they learn anything worthwhile under such a fraud?

No defensive training, no shooting training. Arsene Wenger, what the fuck do you do?

I have heard Sutton be brutally honest about our club under The Old Fraud, even if he does moan and groan at every question and sound like he's five minutes away from hanging himself

He shut Pleat down the other week when he claimed we'd be in the hunt for the title. Sutton said - as we know - we will always capitulate under this fraud.

Frustrating missing out on top class players over the years; namely in the striking department over recent seasons. Higuan was deemed 35 million a few seasons ago. A couple of years later, having been the bright light in a mediocre league, that fee has risen to 75 million?! Crazy stuff!!

Missed out on Higuain is a kind way of putting it. It seems to be common knowledge that Wenger had a change of mind and pulled out of the deal, leaving us with 3 more years (and counting!) of Giroud and Theo :suicide:

Mustafi from Valencia and Lacazette well within reach. Both their clubs have a price and its within our range.

Regarding what Wenger is prepared to pay, and what the clubs are asking for - thats the difference Wenger is prepared to gamble our season on. Say we offer 20m for Mustafi, and Valencia want 25m, and we offer 25m for Lacazette when Lyon want 35m. That would mean 15m is the saving cost of going into a season under prepared. Thats a sum lower than what we lose if we fall out of the top 4.

Dear God if he fucks up this possibility. Neither of them are world class but decent signings anyway.

On the basis that someone is better than no-one, I hope he signs them, but I've seen a bit of Mustafi and he doesn't strike me as anything special.

He'll be getting a new contract. You can bet on that.
