“I know what I want and I am very confident," he said. "I hope to turn that around in the next two or three weeks. But the fans should be re-assured by what they see."
Wenger's two major acquisitions last summer, Bacary Sagna and Eduardo, were new to English football. This time around, it seems he'd like someone who has already acclimatised.
“It would be better to buy someone who has played in England because they are less risky," said the manager. "But it costs more money if they are from the Premier League, so maybe I will try to do both."
Looks like a cert that we'll be seeing someone soon. Can't wait
Who the hell it be? Probably someone we've never heard of
But Wenger does say that the player will be with Premiership experience so very interesting

Apparently Asec Mimosas have a very promising 15 year old bruising centre-forward that we've never head of!

Where are all these gems coming from?burns718 wrote:News just off the million. Arsenal sign Ben Arfa for £16 million. pounds. Tad expensive but probably justified considering his talent and international experience. Also to be signed: Per Mertesacker (Werder bremen) for £7 million, massive six foot six centre half who will provide physical presence with long ball in the centre of defense and a right winger probably Issiar Dia (AS Nancy) to compete with Walcott. Hleb 2 b sold for around £15 million and Kranjcar (12 million. ) or possibly Nuri Sahin (8 million. ) will b brought in with that money.
Tactical changes: Eboue to be pushed back to Right Back as a backup to Sagna, Alex Song and Abou Diaby to play Holding Midfield in place of Flamini.
I understand the transfer rumours but leaked tactical changes??

ok guys got some exciting inside info from my mate at Arsenal TV
Richard Dunne is pretty much tabloid junk. Saying that, his name was mentioned a few times - but nothing will come out of it. Likely reason is his age.
A lot of talk about Yaya Toure, however nothing firm as Ben Arfa (as I posted on another thread) - nevertheless i'm very happy the club's intentions are to buy quality players like Yaya.
Rumour has it that his work permit fell through a couple of years back, as to why AW didn't buy him then, thus opting for Eboue instead
Only issue I have personally is that we've pretty much stuck the middle finger up to Barca over Cesc, and they may respond with two middle fingers over Yaya.
More soon hopefully

Before Guardiola was announced as moving from coach of Barca B to head coach of Barca proper, it was suggested that amongst the many players who would be cleared out was Yaya. No idea of the accuracy of that suggestion though.gus ceasar is a legend wrote:Why would Barcelona want to release Yaya is the obvious sticking point to me?

I think that our only hope of getting him is if he really wants to come and join his brother here. Barca are no different to any other club in that they realise the problems associated to keeping players that obviously want to go. If hleb was offered as a p-ex for Yaya then I can see it happening. I think if it is a cash only transfer though it would make it a difficult one to believe.
He's a good player and as strong as an ox. Exactly what we need in our midfield.
